Mephistette
So she finally arrived.
One week overdue and after a painful, and ultimately unsuccessful, induced labour, Mrs Mephisto underwent an emergency Caesarian last Wednesday. Everything went perfectly and I'm now the proud father of a lovely, healthy little girl. Mephistette has a traditional Irish name, which I'm sure 95% of you couldn't pronounce if you saw it written (but that's part of the charm!) and I'm happy as I've ever been in my life. Mrs Mephisto gets to leave hospital tomorrow and we're both excited to be going home. Not only do we miss the MephistoMutt, but we're also both delighted at bringing our little bundle of joy home. God knows the preparation has been going on for long enough! May not be online as much as before... Of course, I may indeed find myself with more time to waste in the wee hours, so you never know. Back off to hospital know and I only sneaked out for a couple of hours work and online time... Mr "Pops" Mephisto |

You'll get some sleep...eventually. /wouldn't know because Babygirl™ still doesn't sleep all the way through the night at 19 months |
Congratulations!!
Sounds like her labor and delivery was just like mine. Glad it all turned out well. Hope she heals up quickly. Take care of both of your treasures. |

On the bright side, c-section babies don't look so squished when they come out!
Congratulations!! I'm glad to hear all are well. Enjoy the time she can't speak, it won't last long enough... :p Congrats! |
Congrats Mephisto... suck all the joy you can out this time because before you know it she will much larger and as time goes on it becomes very difficult to remember what they were like when they were so small and smell so good.
Before you know it she will want to do everything for herself. |
CONGRATULATIONS from the lurkbastids!!!!
Welcome to the world, little Coannaguhag (or something obscure and Irish like that)! |
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Having my son was the best thing that's ever happened to me so I know how happy you are right now! Enjoy every moment with her, it passes to fast! |
Congratulations Old Man.........
It will be the best thing to ever happen to you. Whether you have more or not, there is only one first child. It's been almost 17 years for me and I can remember it like it was yesterday. Good Luck to you, your wife, and your beautiful daughter. |
welcome to "middle of the night feeds" hell ;)
don't be worried if you are still in your pyjamas at 3pm, and start eating *something* at 3am - this is normal. If you are lucky friends will arrive on your doorstep with pre-cooked meals (very useful at 3am...) Also welcome to the "we are going to theatre now" club - our little boy was not coming out in the normal way either. Welcome to the world little Mephistette! |
Wow...
Thanks everyone. We finally got home from the hospital today. I have the luxury of a job that allows me to work from home, and I'm used to very unusual hours (generally following NorCal times all the way down here in Australia), so I will be able to hang around and help Mrs Mephisto and the Mephistette out a bit. It's all very scary and exciting. MephistoMutt went mad when we came back. The poor bugger probably thought we'd run away... Now I just have to introduce him to the new boss in the house over the next few days. Both of my girls are in the bedroom now, sleeping away blissfully. Somehow I don't think this will last... :-) Mr Mephisto |
aww, yaay!
glad to hear all is well. congrats, and good luck :) |
Congrats Meph...Don't little girls rule?
Here's hoping for a speedy recovery of Mrs Mephisto's belly!!! Wishing you and your family all the best. -bear |

Congrats Mephisto- there is just something about a man and his little girl. It's truly mind-numbing.
Oh- sleep as much as possible and don't forget to show visitors the door when you need to. They'll either understand, or they'll stay away. Either way- out of your hair. |
It's a bit late but congrats!! My sister went through a marathon labor, 18 hr with her son then 16 hr with her daughter. My wife on the other hand, our first son, 1 hr 20 min; second son was under 1 hr. Lucky me!
|
Congrats! This may be a little late, but baby Lebell keeps me from being on tfp as much as I use to be.
Daughters are awesome! You may, however, want to start reading the puberty thread now -- lol. |
I could have sworn I posted in here earlier :) Either way, Congrats on your new little bundle! I hope all is well and everyone is still getting a fair amount of sleep ;)
|
Congrats! And now you've peaked my curiosity with this post, I want to see this name now! I bet I'll be in the 5%!
