What is an opinion? I think of an opinion as a judgement of the quality of something, or the morality of something. An opinion to me is something that can never be incorrect because of its subjectivity, but people use opinion to mean a conclusion reached without absolute proof. For instance people refer to the belief in god as an opinion. I don't really think of that as an opinion, more of an assumption or something else. I don't know. Is there a word that means what I'm talking about?

In my opinion....An opinion is the application of a person's views or set of beliefs to something in question.

I googled the definition and found one definition, that in my opinion, is good.

A belief or conclusion held with confidence but not substantiated by positive knowledge or proof: “The world is not run by thought, nor by imagination, but by opinion” (Elizabeth Drew).

Opinions, no matter what we think, stem from the views of others. If we did not have judgement and opinions from others through life, we would not have our own opinions and judgements to base upon.
But it's all in choice. You can choose to ignore others' opinions & judgements with respect, and thus following the voice of your Truth.
