Charlatan, Thanks for the sources..... It gives you something to think about after reading through those sites. But, George Bush sr supposedly had a hit out on him, and that hasn't happened, and I really don't think GWB will be assinated either.

On A tangent, one of my biggest beefs with the 9-11 conspirators is the way they blame the towers' falling ona controlled demoliton. To my knowledge, there has never really been another building brought down like that, so what do they compare it to? We have no studies showing hjow a 110 story building will react to this type of attack.

Hmmm...I would have to say that it is difficult to believe in the entirety of this theory...I find it difficult to believe that the US would be thrown into martial law if W was assassinated, if for no other reason because a considerable portion of our population would be out partying, but feeling a little bad about feeling so good about it. It may be wrong, but for example I know a considerable number of people in the South threw parties the day that JFK was assassinated.

Some of your points are probably true, but I don't think that makes the whole true. For instance, there certainly is a lot of intermixing of our administration and private business, which is not strange given that pro-business trickle-down economics is a fundamental tenet of the neo-con Republican philosophy. I do believe we are primarily in Iraq to secure long term military presence in a tumultuous part of the world, made strategically important due to its oil reserves, and that there are ties between our administration and the big oil business. I don't think that this makes it very feasible to take over the US and world using W's assassination. Finally, why would "they" do all this / put all this effort in, when they are making so much damn $$$ now with things the way they are, and people more or less happy or at least not pissed enough to revolt?

I dont think you fully understand what I mean will happen when GWB is assassinated. It doesnt matter how many people will run into the streets because of utter joy. The government will insititute martial law by doing this.

They will explain to people that if GWB can be assassinated by terrorists then anyone in the US can be including Joe Mechanic and Betty Homemaker. They will institute the martial law explaining that it is for the good of the country because what they are doing now is not stopping the terrorists and this is the next logical step. They are using the fear that a terrorist can produce in a large enough scale to put martial law into action. GWB being taken out is not going to make people mad, its just going to be the catalyist to fuel the martial law state.

The assassination will be spun by the media, governement officials, and hardcore government supporters to quickly scare the public into submission and accept anything that the government does. This will happen because Americans are affraid that terrorists will steal their liberties and freedoms. They will think that martial law will allow them to keep what they have become accustomed to as far as freedoms go. The Government and military will assure them that this action will be for their own good and that a little more security is only for the protection of every American. When in reality this will not be the case.

Its just going to be a bunch of power hungry elitiests molding and changing one of the most powerful countries in the world to however they see fit. With the patriot act in place, martial law inacted, and people too stupid to realise what is going on infront of their faces this will go on for some time.

Do you honestly think that when the government gets the power to do whatever they want to whomever they want, in public, in broad daylight, with no reprocussions from anyone or anything, anywhere they will just eventually come to the conclusion that the US is safe again and things will go back to normal after that? No that will never happen. It will be a military state for many years to come. The only way that this will end would be a coup in the government and with a country so powerful as the US it wont happen anytime soon.

I'll tell you what crx, I'm not saying it's impossible. I'm just saying it's not likely. I mean, down here we had people helping Eric Rudolf for months or years, and that dude was seriously unhinged. Most of the people were doing it becuase they wanted to thumb there noses at the Feds. A few of them were psycho...but I really think Americans wouldn't go for martial law just because Dubbya got offed. The Patriot Act might get some serious beefage added to it, but I don't think Red Dawn, American Style, would be hitting.

A big part of me believes that martial law couldn't/wouldn't happen. There's just no reason for it.

And let's say the govt did just for some random reason (like the president getting assassinated).. there are just way too many people that wouldn't tolerate it. One would think, anyway.

Another part of me thinks they could get away with it just because most people (and I do mean most people) are stupid, ignorant, and extremely gullible. They are indifferent to anything that happens as long as it doesn't interfere with their personal lives and drone-like routine existence. That's exactly why things like the Patriot Act get passed to begin with. People are too concerned with smokescreens (what Britney Spears is eating, for example) to pay attention to the things that matter.

200 years ago it'd be a different story, because most people actually cared, but nowadays most people DON'T, which is kinda why the govt gets away with what they do. People don't pay attention to details and elect the wrong people.

But I guess the main point is: there'd be no real reason for martial law when the president gets assassinated.

. . . and even less chance of being assinated.

If he was/to be killed... it would have happened when his approval was highest. It makes no sense now... there would be a little uproar, but nothing like what would have happened a little after 9/11. And no, I don't believe just about any of your theory... I'm just pointing out an easy flaw.

You can call me a crackpot too, but some of what this guy says is true. i believe 9/11 was not done by terrorists from a freign country. but i don't believe GWB will be assassinated. i think he's the anti-christ.
