Truly Horrific Nights

It all started when i moved with my girlfriend to a house in a suburb.
Me and my girlfriend where just going to bed when I heard a loud scream. A death scream. My girlfriend said that it was nothing. we went to bed and in the middle of the night we woke up by a loud scream. It was very clear and it sounded like if it were in our bedroom. My girlfriend heard it too, we turned the lights on, but nothing. We shuttered and went back to sleep. And then... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.

It's been going on for like 4 months.
We don't have any money to move and no one is interested by the house. So we have no idea what to do. We have tried to change bedroom and stuff like that, but nothing works.
We live at my folks home. My Girlfriends is terrified to enter our house.
I've made some research and it appeares that a couple dissapered in the suburbs 60 years ago.

What shall we do?

Try a colorful offhand remark. I know that's what I would do in a situation like that. Something along the lines of "Oh be quite, I'm trying to sleep," or "Hey, you've been pulling this shit for months now, your routine needs new material," or "You're already dead, no reason to scream like a big sissy." I figure it'll either make it worse or make it go away.

heh, i've heard that works, try to act all casual when you know you're really scared shitless. but the ghosts don't know that...so they just figure, ah fuck it...i can't scare him...and move on to the next guy.

aberkok 03-11-2005 10:59 PM

Thanks a lot. Now I won't be able to sleep either. Seriously, you need to call these guys.

Well, telling it to leave you alone may have an affect, whether the course is internal or external.

Zephyr66 03-12-2005 09:59 AM

does anyone else hear the screams?
other than you and youe girlfriend that is.

Flossorama 03-12-2005 12:02 PM

The former owners said they heard screaming Goblins in the walls...

We didn't belive them..

Anyhow.. I convinced my girlfriend to spend the night there, and when we heard it.. She freaked out and started screaming.
- WHY CANT YOU STOP SCREAMING!?!?! ARE YOU A BIG BABY!??!?! ect ect

We'll see tonight if worked

DJMala 03-12-2005 02:08 PM

Just a thought, have you checked for animals? There are animals that can make the most godawful, even human-sounding noises. I'd be checking in the attic, in the eaves, on the roof... in the walls even.

Maybe you could try to record the sound. Post it here or elsewhere, maybe someone can even identify it for you.

Flossorama 03-12-2005 04:26 PM

AHAHAHAHAHAHA YOU KNOW WHAT GUYS?! :D

We found squirrels in our bedroom wall.... HAHAHAHAHAHA
Four months of torture... and it turned out to be SQUIRRELS!!! AHAHAH

Hain 03-12-2005 11:17 PM

:Laughs: Brilliant!!! I came into this conversation just in the nick of time. Luckily it wasn't anything too incredibly horrific.

tecoyah 03-13-2005 05:23 AM

Just as a side note....Squirrels make a damn good Chili

Hampshire 03-13-2005 06:55 AM

We had a hole in our closet. And i decided to investigate it.
I put my hand in there and heard a SWOSH and a scream... e.g, They ran away..

Damn Squirrels

my parrents had a simmilar problem, no screams, just a nest of em that got in throught the eaves and proceeded to go bump in the night- they k.o. ed em by drilling a hole and spraying in some ether, then used a stethescope to locate em and a saws all to cut open the drywall- they let the unconscious tree rats go in the woods- only had one not awaken to scurry off (ether O.D. ) no probs since......

You actually stuck your hand in there? I would have been scared to stick my arm in there, what if they started biting away? Anyways, i'm glad you got them out.

Zeraph 03-14-2005 10:00 PM

Pretty funny. Something similar around where I live, though we knew what they were, coyotes. Most people have heard their howls Im sure from movies, but I bet most havn't heard there...I dunno, hunting/eating/fighting yaps or barks. They sound creepy as fuck, like a hyena and something else. Many cats have disapeared so the fact that it is likely someones pet they are tearing apart gives an addes edge of pain.

lindseylatch 03-14-2005 10:12 PM

The people who built my parents house owned a cougar, and they had to leave it there when the new people moved in. i don't know if anyone's heard a cougar scream, but it sounds like a woman in mortal agony. These guys had German Shepherd that would run out barking at the cougar, who would then slam itself against the cage and scream at them. Apparently it went on all night long.

Mr. Pink 03-24-2005 01:48 AM

Coyotes sound an awful lot like screaming girls to a teenager with an overactive imagination, let me assure you

pattycakes 03-24-2005 05:43 AM

someone put speakers in your walls and is doing this to make you move out and sell ti cheap!!!

i dunno

Charlatan 03-24-2005 05:50 AM

You should commiserate with Flyman... he has problems with squirrels too.

We have problems with Racoons screaming outside out bedroom window.

Foxes scream at night and sound like young girls being clubbed to death. I once called the police because of one down the road. If there's one sitting outside your house at night, the sound really could seem like it's in the room. They're not quiet.

Next time it happens, look out the window and switch the yard-light on. $10 says you'll see a fox scampering off.

I always here foxes to, i remember when i first heard it i went outside and everything to investigate. Never saw a thing, then worked out after a while that it was a fox. Still can't get used to walking home after a nights drinking and having foxes running out of bushes in front of you or just looking at you. Scary buggers bet they're more scared at me when i tell them to fuck off. As luck would have it they always have, touch wood they always will.

cowgirl02 04-11-2005 11:23 AM

We have lots of coyotes up by our house. We can hear them from a distance and they just sound like they are howling but when they get close it sounds like someone is screaming. We were sitting on the couch one night watching tv, we heard a coyote RIGHT outside and i have NEVER seen my dog run so fast thru the doggy door!!! It was quite funny!!!!

cellophanedeity 04-12-2005 03:16 PM

One of my mum's closest friends hates black squirrels. She says that "they're evil!"

So maybe you did have evil in your house. What colour were they? ;)

kramus 04-12-2005 05:21 PM

Skwerls lived in the eaves in my old house. My wife is slightyly hearing impaired (she never knew about the irritating whine mosquitos make at night when you try to sleep untill I told her what was bugging me once!) so I never said anything. But when we made that room the nursery and they kept waking the baby up I had to do something. The nest was at least 15 feet long and I can't guess how many decades old, but I took a reciprocating saw and cut the whole wall open and cleaned it out (felt sick for weeks after). The little tree rats kept chewing at the wooden patch and I finally got an eavestrough guy to metal the whole thing up. The squirrels would stand on the neighbours roof, half a dozen or so, and screamed at our house for about 2 weeks straight before they moved on. They were pissed.

thalakos315 04-13-2005 03:55 AM

me and my father helped do a complete remodel on an old house for a friend.

we broke into the bedroom wall, and WOOSH, thousands of acorns came pouring out, acompanied by god knows what else. he had just bought the house, with the intention of reselling after it was fixed. i'd hate to of been in there to hear the noises they made at night
