Staten Island Cropsey House
As a child my camp would take me to this house in the middle of the woods. The doors are locked and the windows are so dirty you can't see in. The story goes like this: The home was an old nursing home. It treated many diseased elderly. One day one of the patients ,named Cropsey, lost his mind. He grabbed a syringe and stabbed all the nurses to death. He killed everyone in the home including himself. Now the story goes if you go near the Cropsey house at night you could clearly see the spirits of the nurses and patients who were killed that night.
one of my favorite stories indeed |
I can't seem to find anything about it on the internet. Shadowlands, which has a pretty good collection of haunted places, doesn't mention it or anything like it. Might it go by another name?

That's a pretty gruesome death, being stabbed to death with a needle.
I wonder how many times you would have to prick someone in order to bring about their death. On the other hand, maybe the syringe was filled with a deadly poison. Maybe there was a lunatic nurse that was going to kill poor Mr. Cropsey and Cropsey got the upper hand and went a little overboard. Or maybe there was a conspiracy by the nursing staff to get rid of that trouble maker Mr. Cropsey, or purhaps Mr. Cropsey inherited a fortune and didn't have anyone to leave it too. Or maybe... |
well it dosent have to filled with poison .. actually anything at all.. just air is enough to kill someone.. chances are 1-100 somewhere you hit it just right and poof an air bubble floats around and bam death is the result... plus most people take a harsh effect to a needle.. you'd be supprised how many lpn and rn are ok giveing but afraid of a needle themsleves

So have you been there at night. Does the story say any thing about bieng stabed if you go there or just you some some dead people???
What ever happens if you feel a small prick...............RUN!!! LOL |
Sounds to me like this is just him telling a scary story from his childhood. I have more than enough of those that keep me up at night occasionally. Especially at my grandparents. Hoh-boy. I'm a sucker for stories like that.

Hmm... you think maybe this could be a camp ghost story? Just a thought.
