Strangely-acting pets

My grandfather had a dog that was something else. At any given point in the day, he would pick up a stick long enough to drag while walking, and he would draw shapes in the dirt with it. Specifically, he would draw seemingly perfect 4-foot diameter circles in the dirt, over and over. And then, suddenly with a loss of enthusiasm, he'd run off. My grandpa always thought his neighbor was screwing around with him until one day he actually saw the dog doing this.

The other thing the dog would do is find very large rocks and attempt to push them up the hill in the yard. He would do this until his whole face would be bloody and scratched from pushing the rock over and over with his nose.

Anyone else seen extremely bizarre animal behavior like this?

That circle thing is pretty insane.

My pets don't do anything like that. I only have a bird and lizard though.

Wow... That's a weird dog.

They say that pets are tuned in to ghosts and such.

this is not that strange but i have always have had both dogs and cats together as pets. i have been broken into a few times at night when home. the dogs never did anything but slept during the brake ins. the cats went wild running through the house, jumping around and letting me know what was going on.

also i don't know the spelling off hand but there is a mythological story about sysiphres(?) a man who spent eternity carring large rocks up mountains only to roll them off the top and carry them back up.

Freaky animals freak me out. I once had a cat who gave me the heebie jeebies.

I had some friends over and we were sitting in the kitchen. My cat came in and started doing that low meowing sound they do before they fight and was staring up at the ceiling. Then, out of nowhere, he attacked my friend's wife. We shut the cat in my room.

My friend had heard that if you toss a pinch of salt at a possessed cat, they'll freak out. We opened the door and tossed a pinch of salt at my cat and he went f'in nuts. He proceeded to claw his way through the screen in my window and jumped 3 stories to the ground. He survived but was hurt. We brought him back up stairs. The next day, he jumped again. This time he wasn't hurt and ran away.

I don't know what the hell that was about.

That's crazy firstly about the cat attacking your friend's wife, and secondly that he survived a 3 story drop, twice.

my dog... cocker spaniel... he was so lazy and spoiled... but once in a while he'd kill a squirrel and lay it out onthe deck to dry...

This is an old story, and one that I wasn't witness to, but have known several of the people that did know "Jim". In fact, my dad buried him in the cemetery in my home town. Guess he was probably the last person to see the dog.

Won't go into more detail, theres a link if interested.

Thanks to anitra who suggested that I post this...
