9/11 was the best thing that could have ever happened to Bush

Because of 9/11, almost every American worships him blindly. Because of 9/11, Bush and the other politicians have given themselves more power than ever before, and Americans dare not question it, since they will be arrested for dissent and accused of being unpatriotic. Because of 9/11, more foolish Americans happily submit to whatever the US government demands of them.

This is a very insightful post. I like how you backed up your statements with facts and figures too. Thats always a nice touch and many people forget to do that. Seriously though, this is such a great post. Especially for the Paranoia forum. This post is riddled with conspiracies. You better watch your back because the government might come after you for uncovering that many conspiracies.

This is why he and Kerry are even (within margin of error) in every opinion poll. People blindly worship him and vote for the other guy.

This might have been a valid point two years ago, but not anymore. People see through his crap these days.

hulk 03-22-2004 07:55 AM

If you all see through his crap so well, why the hell is he still in power? You were willing to call impeachment for Clinton because he bangs outside of marriage, yet Bush wants to outlaw gay marriage, as well as breaks UN laws and all that bullshit. I suppose it's all part of your paranoia over sex, I suppose. On TV, you can shoot a woman in the breast, but you just can't see it, right?

Actually, Clinton was impeached because he perjured himself while being questioned about having sex, not because he had sex with her. As far as the statements about Bush...well, technically he didn't break a law...technically. I don't like Bush, he scares the shit out of me, I don't think he's smart enough to tie his own shoes. Fortunately, we have a chance to fix our mistakes every four years.

Boo 03-22-2004 08:33 AM

I wonder how many times Clinton gets off the hook by being impeached for a BJ when that is not the case?

I just hope people that vote this November will be truely informed and not vote based on faulty logic. Emotional voting with little or no foresight is what really scares me.

If you think that Bush is stupid that is fine, but Kerry can't make up his own mind.

As for gay marriage, the US is just not ready for it. Sorry, had to say it. We're also not ready for political reform, religion in the schools, or a black/woman president. If we were, there would be alot more people in the streets and the momentum would carry it to the Whitehouse. The will of the people.....

Demon Deacon 03-22-2004 12:08 PM

What scares me the most is people voting blindly for a challenger because they are angry with the incumbent.

You shouldn't automatically vote for an opposer or challenger because you dislike the incumbent. Unless you feel totally confident that this person has the qualifications and means to do a better job then you just may be voting in someone worse.
That would be unwise. Don't waist a good vote to anger. It also could quite possibly lead to the election of an even worse candidate for president.

You should vote for the person you think will do the best job.
Do some research.

Also, please consider all aspects of what will face a new president coming into office and how it will affect us and the world if he decides to derail everything that has been done the last 4 years.

That's all I ask.

theburner 03-22-2004 12:20 PM

Demon Deacon: Amen brother.. We need more than a 2 party system to prevent people voting blindly for a challenger because they are angry with the incumbent.

In a 2 party system, isn't almost everyone that votes for the challenger voting because they are angry with the incumbent? :)

SaltPork 03-22-2004 01:12 PM

This year's election is going to be the same as last time: Vote for the lesser of two evils.

Not sure everyone votes for the challenger for that reason, at least not intelligent people. Unfortunately most people don't educate themselves and vote either dem. or rep. and that is the wrong thing to do. I could go on a rant about it, but this isn't the Politics forum.

theburner 03-22-2004 01:53 PM

Whoa.. Don't make the leap that the average voter is intelligent! :) Your average TFP'er maybe, but average voter?

I bet if someone put Heywood Jablome on the Federal Ballot he would get at LEAST 5% of the vote. Hell, Nader get's 5% of the vote.. I give Heywood 10%..

pan6467 03-24-2004 12:16 AM

Why does everyone pick on poor Nader. I voted for him in '00. I truly believed in his policy on jobs. As he said "the greatest terrorist we have in the USA are businesses shipping jobs overseas and leaving nothing here"

because he's a lunatic? I'm surprised he doesn't foam at the mouth. He wants to federalize the best-performing businesses in the country. Translation: If you're too successful, the government takes you over. Some would call that communism.

He wants to put such restrictions on vehicles that basically everything that TFP members drive would be illegal.

He's got all sorts of crazy ideas, and some really good ones. Unfortunately the crazy ones make him too scary to justify voting for him.

You mean... the will of a select few?

Laws against gay marriages just further confine our basic liberties in this country. My opinion on homosexuality doesn't really matter, because if two people love each other, and they want to get married, LET THEM. It's THEIR CHOICE!!! Besides, marriage provides certain protection over a couple that just living together doesn't. Sheesh! /rant

Mojo_PeiPei 03-24-2004 10:18 PM

If 60%+ of the country is a minorty, well my math just plain sucks.

Agreed entirely. If not for 9/11, Bush would have been crucified on everything from the economy to Medicare. He's done, arguably, more to hurt the country than any president since LBJ, yet because he "fighting the terrorists in Iraq", middle America worships the ground he walks on. That being said, he'll probably be voted out in the upcoming election. Unless he captures Bin Laden, of course.
