Think this might be real? PK/TK vid

'

What do you think? If it is fake I can't figure out how he's doing it. He also has a lot of other videos in the same vein too. Can see em all I think by clicking his name from youtube.

You can skip through a lot of the beginning if you want. Most of his more convinceable tests are middle to end.

The topic is interesting, and the old KGB videos are pretty convincing. I've seen some things that relate to this in the past, but I am not willing to talk about my personal experiences.

The featherlight object in a glass could be false. It's like those white/black spinner things that rotate on light/thermal energy alone. I don't trust it.

On the other hand, the KGB videos have a guy moving one object out of 2 under glass (I think both were, can't remember now), and it was like a salt shaker or something. Crazy vid, and old so not as easily faked. I think they've had a TV documentary with that vid, but it's been a while.

If it's real, I know a guy in Florida with a million dollars for him.

That's nothing. I'm watching a video right now that shows a guy flying, moving incredibly fast, and even stopping bullets. It looks pretty convincing to me.

Hold on, he's about to save an airplane full of people falling out of the sky....

On a more serious note, if someone could do this, why would they post a video of it on youtube? They'd prove they could do it in front of some physicists, and completely revolutionize everything we know about science. Making a bajillion dollars in the process, if they're into that.

Parlor tricks. All it takes is a very tiny magnet. My friend is into body modification; she sent me a site where a guy describes how to give yourself small ball-bearing-sized magnetic implants into your fingertips.

It would take only this, or even a magnet wedged between his fingers, or even one on his knee under the table.

Um, you realize that stuff wasn't magnetic?

"If it's real, I know a guy in Florida with a million dollars for him. "

Getting kind of sick of hearing this parroted over and over again. I think we all have known about this for years. And it's not proof. For one thing, not everyone is motivated by money and greed. For another, an absence of evidence is not an evidence of absence.

"how many things in film look real? video is getting better and better, and you can't believe ANYthing you see."

So what, that was CG? You know how expensive that is? I don't think someone invested all that time and money just to put a free video up on youtube...

PS This isn't about absolute proof. Some of us that are open minded enjoy seeing *possible* evidence yet one always sees so many replies that, ironically, offer less evidence than the subject they denounce.

So you want to dream and fantasize, just don't call it proof, even possible proof. If there was anything to this crap the folks involved would be very interested in proving these phenomena scientifically, and a million dollars would go quite a ways in funding research, or developing these "gifts".

You want to believe? Great, go ahead, just quit getting pissed when people who want proof start asking questions, or making judgments based on available science, ie. proof.

You know what I'm tired of hearing parroted over and over? Jackassed assumptions that having an open mind means you have to believe any of this crap.

Don't be a tool. Being open minded has nothing to do with out right believing. I am still a skeptic. I never said I believed.

And they're not asking questions, they're repeating the same old crap that doesn't mean anything as their reason for why it doesn't exist.

Not everyone cares about furthering science or money. I am still amazed every day that the majority of people out there like you are so naive.

In the first under-glass demonstration, the pointer may be responding to changes in air pressure due to temperature fluctuations. It seems to move while his hand is creating a shadow on the left side of the bowl. I don't know how much air current that could create, but the pointer is obviously designed to move with very little resistance.

In the second under-glass demonstration, it's hard to tell what's really going on. So little of the scene is shown that any of a myriad of tricks are possible, such as magnets under the table or heat being applied from a certain direction.

In the third demonstration, the one in the bottle, the top of the bottle is never shown. The bottle itself is obscuring enough that, in addition to outside forces mentioned above, even a small wire or string could be used to manipulate the pointer.

The next video seems to try to address the above concerns, but it still leaves many questions unanswered. First, how do we know that there is not some sort of magnetic force being applied off camera? Second, because there is no sound, it's hard to say whether the hot air blower is actually blowing on the glass when the claimant points it there. Finally, if PK is supposed to emanate from the mind, why does the pointer seem to be reacting to his fingers?

Regarding the fan demonstration, it appears that the object fan is simply not a very effective wing, or that the airflow over it is turbulent. Unlike the pointer, this apparatus does not appear to respond directly to the claimant's hands. Rather, it seems to slow down and speed up of its own accord in a chaotic manner. The fan is reminiscent of people who claim they have the magical ability to turn off streetlights because streetlights seem to turn off as they walk by. In reality, some streetlights overheat, turn off, and then cool and turn back on. They do this whether you're walking by or not, it's just that you only notice it happening when you walk by. Likewise, I suspect the fan would respond chaotically whether the claimant's hands were waving around or not. Again, the motion of the hands does not seem to have any bearing on the fan's rotation.

Bring the guy to MIT. Then I'll believe. Money and influence aside, imagine how much it could benefit humanity if we could understand and harness this allegedly untapped energy source! To withhold these abilities, if they exist, from scientific scrutiny is unconscienable.
