your "pump up" song
Ok, out with it...I know everyone has a pump up song. Most of you (myself included) have many, but everyone has one major one. Let's hear what yours is.
Mine is Sky, by Ra |
Powerman 5000 - Free
|
"Magic Carpet Ride" and/or "Born to be Wild" - Steppenwolf
|
"Can't Stop" - Red Hot Chilli Peppers
|
My biggest one would be Destroyer by the KINKS.
|
Anthrax - Fueled and/or Slayer - Raining Blood
I really doubt anyone else will even list a song from Anthrax. *Cries* Anyways, I could never pick between those two. :) |
just found this tonight: Infernal - From Paris To Berlin
but before, it was Mark Mothersbaugh - Ping Island/Lighting Strike Rescue Op (from steve Zissou:life aquatic) |
ACDC - Thunderstruck
or Lost Prophets - Last Train Home |
Pump It by Black Eyed Peas and Jitterbug by Wham!
GREAT pump up songs :D |
...
OH MAN! ANYTHING FROM SYSTEM OF A DOWN!!
Group: System of a Down Album: Self Titled Song: Darts :D |
Difficult to pick just one, of course. I'll have to put MF Doom - Doomsday from Operation Doomsday. I think it's got a really hype beat and he's always nasty.
|
There's nothing worse than a blubbering metalhead. So purely in the interests of getting Destrox to stop crying, I'm gonna say Anthrax - Belly of the Beast.
My song changes with the wind, but recently it's been (and this is an odd one I know) Green Day - Longview. The bass/drum combo just gets my blood pumping for some reason. |
Usually anything by rage against the machine or linkin park
|
"Push Up" remix of the Freestylers by Plump DJs
|
"Feel Good, Inc" and "Dare"... Gorillaz. Make me do the funny shoulder dance in the car.
|
some of these are good, but most i havent even heard of...gonna have to download them

Let's check the Power playlist... not sure what I'd call my top. I'll just have to list a bunch.

Most anything from Godsmack or Korn
|

/I shouldn't be admitting that I know that... |

I just chose to refrain from making the same post so I wouldn't share the same admission... wait... ah shit. too late.) |
"How Many Licks" by Lil Kim and also
"Ladies Night" by Lil Kim and company |
Quote:
Thanks for the list! |
Pendulum-Submarines or Tarantula (pretty much any Pendulum or dirty drum&bass will get me pumped)
Dieselboy-Subculture Nirvana-Rape Me (odd I know) RATM-Bulls on Parade |
System of a Down- Shimmy
|
Survivor - Eye Of The Tiger
I'm surprised no one has mentioned this one yet, it's such an amazing pump up song. I listen to it before every football game to get ready to pound some ass!(did that sound gay?) |
yes! that's a good one. Probably my second favorite (but miles behind the one i listed) is the Final Countdown, covered by the German Brass (so much better than Europe)...surprised no one has mentioned that yet either
|
I really actually like
Adema - The Way You Like It |
There are a lot of songs (including almost any AC/DC song), but I'll throw out Republica - Ready To Go. Mmmm one-hit-wonderish.
|
Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin gets me goin'
|
Pantera - Walk
Pink Floyd - Have a Cigar Strapping Young Lad - AAA Korn - All in the Family (lame lyrics, but the beat is great) |
Hi Ya'll. Thanks for the songs, much downloading soon. Try this: Avenged Sevenfold, Bat Country. If that song doesn't amp you up, you are dead. I only discovered the band last night. The album is City of Evil. They are a bit metal and a lot other. Lots of great guitar, fast-paced songs. But they are just different. Fucking fantastic.

After a great deal of thought and a meticulous elimination process I doth hereby decree that:
Everybody Loves a Carnival - by Fatboy Slim *is my "pump up song". Until I decide to change my mind again. |
Pantera - Fucking Hostile
How anyone who has heard this song can name anything else is beyond me. |
If I was Jason Gedrick (Doug Masters) in Iron Eagle I would say "One Vision" by Queen :)
but I'm not, so I'll say "One" by Metallica. how bout some old school "Rock You Like A Hurricane" by The Scorps... |
meh...If I was going to say something by the Scorps, I would say Alien Nation. That song is badass.
|
Megadeth - Crush 'Em
Motorhead - The Game Rob Zombie - Demon Speeding, Dragula, Living Dead Girl, Feel So Numb Those are the ones I listened to in my Mustang while eating up the ricers. :) |

Changes - Tupac.
every time i play that song just before a game of anything i always end up winning cos it psyches me up and gets me into concentration mode where all i thinka bout is winning. for me pumped up in being in the 'zone' where nothing else but what is ahead matters. everything else is negligible... yup tupac does it for me. |

Lately I find it's been "Watching the Wheels" and "Imagine" by John Lennon and "Better Things" by the KINKS (who were just inducted to the British Music Hall of Fame and Ray Davies had the honor of inducting The Who, the same night.)
|
Mantus, thanks for the Firestarter Empirion. I like it. Also, I like the Dandy Warhols now. I love discovering new music. I understand that there is a lot of talent out there that I don't get exposed to, so I love it when you people give me a clue. I'm 35, and I don't really hit the clubs any more, but I still love great tunes, from any genre.
|
Ante Up- MOP
Actually anything by MOP, but this song especially. |
Lots of great songs mentioned so far. A few new ones for me. Dieselboy+KAOS - Subculture - its a kick ass song guccilvr - any other songs like this?
Some more additions to the list: The Professionals - Flava for Rava - mentioned yet? Of course can't have a list like this without Take Me Out by Franz Ferdinand For those who like blues anything by Anson Funderburg & the Rockets is damn fine. Rambling Woman is a notable song but they are all great. BTO's - Let it Ride <- Old school, how can we forget? Goldie Looking Chain - Guns Dont Kill People Rappers Do <- 4 teh B-boiz Ladytron - Destroy Everything You Touch <- mindless, very fun, but just once. Benny Goodman - Sing, Sing, Sing <- old school jazz Chemical Brothers - Galaxy Bounce <- there goes the subwoofer. |
Motley Crue - Kickstart My Heart
The Misftis - Die, Die My Darling Talib Kweli - Get By The Offspring - Mission From God Hatebreed - Perseverence AFI - The Prayer Position |
Oh... a pump-up song.
I think anything from 'Nevermind the Bollocks... Here's the Sex Pistols' album will do the job fine for me. And no, I don't listen to any other punk music in general. And I do realize they seem to be too 'old' for my 'young' age- oh well, who cares? |

Wake up - Rage against the Machine Bombs over Baghdad - Outkast Cochise - Audioslave Walk - Pantera Boom - System of a Down Push It - Static X March of the pigs - Nine Inch Nails Bodies - Drowning Pool umm.. Rammstein, Rob Zombie, Metallica, Disturbed, have multiple songs that do the trick... |
As the lovely ShaniFaye mentioned, it really depends what I am getting pumped up for.
For a particular subset of physical activity, Steve Vai - For the Love of God and Tender Surrender Satch - Always with Me, Always with You and Love Thing For the rest of it: For some reason Evanescence - Bring Me To Life Followed closely by: Bruce Dickinson - The Return of the King AC/DC - For those about to Rock Eminem - Lose Yourself Bush - Machinehead And I could go on and on and on - one more from the world's best band, though: Blue Öyster Cult: Pocket |
there are too much of 'em, but I'd say
"Guano Apes - Open your eyes" |
I've got a few, depending on my mood:
Dreams - Van Halen Children - Robert Miles Du Hast - Rammstein Spybreak - Propellerheads Seven Nation Army - White Stripes Jenny Says - Cowboy Mouth And not necessarily a PUMP UP song, but one that always always puts me in a great mood: In Your Eyes - Peter Gabriel |
