BOR - you stole my idea!! Seriously I play concert percussion, I have my mallets/sticks at home, but the precious marimba is far away at school :(

K-Wise 04-22-2005 08:54 AM

I was gonna do the same thing! Dammit! :( I'm jealous of all of you that do have an instrument though. My parents would never buy me one. I'll have to buy one for myself.

Asta!!

How are those Fender Lace Sensor pickups? I recently picked up some Texas Specials, but was considering those.

Tusko 04-23-2005 01:27 PM

in every opinion i've heard lace sensors > texas specials.

I really dig their sound. I have three Gold Lace Sensors on there now. Some people describe them to have a bell-like tone, which is true. They're not high output pickups but they sound great for rythm and melodic playing. Not great for hard stuff but that's not really what they're intended for. I'm thinking about switching the neck pickup to a Red Lace sensor which is supposed to have higher output.

Overall, daddy like.

My American Fender Stratocaster (got it in January, 2004), and my American Fender Telecaster (got it in April, 2005).

My first guitar was a Gibson Les Paul of my uncles which has since been returned to him now that I have some guitars of my own. Not shown is my acoustic and my saxaphone, both which aren't too impressive anyways, haha.

optik_nerve 05-01-2005 05:07 PM

I'll post mine once I get my fucking camera working.

But in the meantime my electronic setup is a Roland JP-8000, 12" G4 Powerbook...couple of midi boards...and a casio board with a nice piano sound on it..

and a B.C. Rich Worlock and some shitty 7-string Squier...ran through a Korg Toneworks FX board with amp presets and out of an Ibanez stack...

I dont have any webspace to put pics on but I am currently running a Roland JP8000, Technic 1200's, Emu XL7 (with papen and orchestral expansion roms), Roland MC 505 and a Shelton Farretta Blanca. I do my recording with either N-track or Fl studio 5 and I do all my mixing and production work in FL Studio (with more vstis and sample libraries than I care to mention). If anyone has the space I could email them a pic of my setup.

MiSo 05-07-2005 01:17 AM

here's a generic picture.
its my #1 favorite
yamaha ypc-30
awesome piccolo, beautiful tone. couldn't get super super super loud with it, but
playing soft to loud was very easy. very consistant sound dynamically.
http://images.misupply.com/products/...aha/yypc30.jpg

before that, i had a emerson P4.
solid silver piccolo. very easy to play extremely loud, but could'nt get very soft without sacrificing tonal quality.

From the Newbie; a few of mine.

An old Westone, 3 Ibanez, a couple Strats. I think the 2 Ibanez Jems are my favorites right now. Next week it'll be the Strats again

Nice axes you got there! I can't choose a favorite between my Ibanez and my strat either. I guess it depends on the day.

This is my drumset. A Yamaha Recording Custom 9000 from the early 80's - bought it rather cheap, and it sounds great!

Use Sabian AAX studio cymbals, along with some Paise 2002's.

Nancy 07-02-2005 08:10 AM

Lol 5 guitars? 1 is not good enough for ya? :D

The Canada one fucking rocks. If I had a guitar I'd paint Dannebrog on it too :D

Now I don't know about that green glitter one - it looks like a legacy object from the 70's I'd like to burry..along with bell bottoms  Seriously though; what's up with glitters on guitars, people?

Fly 07-02-2005 08:13 AM

it's rare Nancy..........not alot of them made so.........it stands on it's own eh.

plus it makes me look good cuz it's so ugly.

Nancy 07-02-2005 08:21 AM

Damnit! I forgot to ask what Thumper is doing on your drumset?

Rare you say? That's why I haven't seen too many of them around. So.. what do they cost?

Fly 07-02-2005 09:28 AM

canadian flag one is a piece of shit i bought for 50 bucks.

the green Dhillon i scored for 800 bucks.......plays sweet

the Music Man bass is about 2000 bucks.......best......basses....ever.....made....and worth every penny

the blue acoustic was 40 bucks........(friend was hurtin' for cash eh).....200 bucks in the store........and a piece of shit too i might add

and the last acoustic i bought 15 years ago for 200 bucks.......and there's a reason she's still with me.

thanx for askin' Nancy. :icare:

Fly 07-02-2005 09:30 AM

I have a Bach stradivarius trumpet, but its not here in college so I can't get a pic. Looks a hell of a lot like what you have mikeylips.

Martian 09-29-2005 11:14 AM

Shpoop, a great trumpet, I used to play one in high school. That and our other lead would occasionally lend me his Jupiter pocket trumpet. The tone wasn't the greatest, but it was still cool.

The lead singer for my favorite ska band (Perfect Thyroid) used to play two pocket trumpets simultaneously.

Jesus H. Christ, someone else has actually heard of Perfect Thyroid!

Yeah, that was a neat trick. I've seen it done in person, but never had that much control over the airflow myself.

My Ric and my Yamaha acoustic, just snapped the g string today, need to get a whole new set:
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...666/Dev049.jpg
The shitty starter drums I got pretty cheaply a couple years back, I was never much of a drummer anyway. also, theres not a lot of room in my house, so this room is full of junk(Edit: Holy crap, I picked up an orb  ):
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...666/Dev047.jpg
And my cheap ass keyboard that i use purely for MIDI stuff:
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b2...666/Dev050.jpg

I'm also looking into getting a new bass(5-string probably) and an electric guitar.

SteveoTG 12-13-2005 10:18 PM

what a crappy practice room...where the hell do you go to school? ugh. makes me want to vomit all over my keyboard.

I had one just like this, only another cymbal... A sweet set of Sabians too... I sold the fucking things last year. First thing I did in a long line of things I regret. I'd do anything to have them back. :|

Flyman, I wanna come live in your music room. I'll sleep in the bass drum.
