When the hell did she release an album?? Saw it and I had to check it out. Actually not as bad as I thought it was gonna be. She got help from dudes from The Wallflowers and Pete Yorn's band n shit to make the album. It's singer songwriterish stuff with maybe a hint of jazz in there.

John Frusciante went solo? Did not know about that. What kind of music is it?

K-Wise 01-10-2005 04:57 PM

John Frusciante'ish kind of music. I'm not sure how I would describe it now...he had 2 songs in spanish on one of those CD's for one. I didn't hear enough of it to actually be able to tell you the kind of music it is perhaps that question is better left to someone who owns the CD's. I only say this because I have no idea if there are any transitions in the songs that perhaps go from acoustic singer/songwriter style in to electric rock towards the middle or end or vise versa. Since I don't know exactly what kind of artist he is on his solo work I have no way of knowing if he would do such transitions. I just know that I liked what I heard for the most part..and it sounded a little singer/songwriter style mellow music.

I'm thinking about picking up a couple albums myself.

What can people tell me about The Verve For those who don't remember them, you will recall "Bittersweet Symphony", "Lucky Man" and "The Drugs Don't Work". I would like to know what the rest of the album Urban Hymns is like. Is it a worthy pickup?

i sampled some of minnie's tracks when it was released in october...didn't sound too bad. john legend is a definite must-hear. "let's get lifted again" was my third favorite track of 2004.

I hear the album is actually quite good. And when they broke up Richard Ashcroft started making solo albums. I've heard them and they're both really good. I think you should check em out.

Every time I see Minnie Driver, I think of what either Affleck/Damon said of her that just kills me. When she would show up at every Hollywood premiere, one of them said something like,.."It isn't surprising Minnie is here, she would go to an opening of an envelope." Kills me everytime.

^ Haha. Now that I remember it I checked out Concrete Blond's first album also cause I never bothered to when it came out. Really good album.

YES!!! Awesome album. But an even better album is the one BEFORE Urban Hymns--A Northern Soul. I love that album with a fiery passion. Both are worth owning, definitely.
