He is by far the coolest guitarist on earth and after the new set comes out on the 27th he will be the richest!!

LED FUCKING ZEPPELIN RULES.................

can't wait for the new stuff.

Jimmy Page was the first person to inspire me to learn how to play guitar.When I was 12 years old and heard the solo to "Whole Lotta Love" I was hooked.

Since then many other guitarists have influenced me but Jimmy was the first. It still blows my mind how incredible so many of Zeppelin's songs are. I like the Beatles,The Stones,The Who and Queen alot but in my opinion they don't even come close to the level of musicianship that the Zep were.Anyone who has seen and heard tons of Zeppelin videos and bootlegs will understand that.

I can't wait for the DVD to come out. It would be nice if the current stars of the music industry took a look also.Could just be a somewhat humbling experience for most of them who think they are the cat's meow. It might even inspire some of them to try and learn how to play their instuments rather than using them as a fashion accessory.( Sorry,my own personal bias)

I just love sitting outside with my guitar on a warm night when the sun is setting and playing the "Rain Song." Makes me thankful that some musicians were more concerned with making good music than looking good on magazine covers(Sorry,personal bias again)

Im going to admit something very embarrassing here. My first concert? 10 years old, Cindy Lauper. It was my sister's bday present and my Mom took us all. My second concert? 12 years old. Jimmy Page (Outrider). The red double neck guitar. I remember the audience full of smoke, and a funky weird smell (hehe), then everybody went nuts when this guy came on stage with long blond hair. My Dad took me. Your time is gonna come, Travelin Riverside Blues, Kashmir... almost every song has a memory attached. My first BJ I received while driving? The girl's head was bobbing in time to dyer maker... (i started laughing and she didnt know why)... drove from NM to MA by myself when I was 18, NONSTOP. Your time is gonna come was on when I arrived in Worcester. All the classics remind me of my childhood. Now I watch The song remains the same on my bigscreen TV as an adult. I dont see how any other music could ever be such a big part of my life.

I don't obsess.. But I think he's one of the most talented musisions of the past three generations..

I think Jimmy Page was a better songwriter/riff-creator than a super talented musician. He knows how to play the guitar, for sure, but you can hear so many mistakes and sloppy playing on the albums it's ridiculous. Granted, he was so boozed up he probably doesn't remember actually recording any of that stuff.

I'll give the guy credit, but you have to admit, the guiar solo in the middle of "heartbreaker" is one of the worst ever. (I think that's the song, the one where it breaks down to just him playing seemingly random guitar stuff....pretty bad)

I can agree to an extent depending on the day, but overall I would call him a super talented musician. He created backward echo( with a little tip from Roger Mayer--the guy who built all of Jimi Hendrix's effects) ie "Whole Lotta Love", introduced the theramin into a live situation as opposed to just being a studio effect (along side the violin bow),produced all the records,mastered the art of overdubbing,wrote and played complicated arrangements and whether one likes it or not,influenced and continues to influence musicians. Had a few,I could go on but I won't.Can't wait for that DVD

Rappers steal music from anyone talented enough to create it, and they talk to it. <See Eminem's rip-off of Dream On by Aerosmith and countless others>. I don't like it, but I hope if they let them use their music, they're at least getting some kind of compensation for it. Puff Daddy also ripped off Sting, remember?

When the Levee Breaks is one of the most intense blues songs I have ever heard. Zeppelin is freakin' amazing. The variety of sound they can produce is amazing, yet it is so distinctly Led Zeppelin when you hear it. They can rock you into tears.

Zep had it all- Page's riffs, Bonzo's tree trunk drum sticks pounding away, and Plant's edgy vocals. Mix in blues and rock and, well, there it is

My biggest disappiontment is that Plant(even when he toured with Page) never sings "Stairway"

Huge Zep fanatic in high school. In the 80's. Bought all the records listened to them over and over on a shitty record player and kinda fucked 'em up. Now I have them on cd.

Yeh great musician and yes he is sloppier than hell. Every good guitar player i know says the same thing.

its all about the soul he puts into it....he can make any guitar sound like jimmy page...it doesn't take a 58 les paul it takes one Jimmy Page

I just spent 5 and a half hours Yesterday watching/listening to the new DVD, WOW!......Just fucking awesome. The sound quality is stupendous.

Only fault I thought, was the packaging, a little flimsy.

Percy Plants team got promotion yesterday as well, so a good day all round.

Ah!....Oh to be in England in the springtime. Happy days!

and of course there is an article about the Led Zeppelin DVD in entertainment weekly. NO chance of a led zeppelin reunion! the DVD rocks all get out, but you know that. knebwirth is amazing, and of course the royal albert hall 1970 shows an awesome young zeppelin. interesting use of audience footage too. and bonus footage from early tv performances. also fun to see unused footage from The Song Remains The Same.

Planty's team is 'Wolves' and they just won the playoffs and are promoted to the premiership, so he's a bit chuffed.

Love Zeppelin! I have the box set, from when I was getting into 'em...I want all the albums...Including the new stuff, which i didnt hear, but i was told it was fucking awesome!

I read that the footage is from Royal Albert Hall(1970), Earls Court(1975) and Knebworth(1979). I don't want to sound disappointed,but I've been watching these concerts for years on bootlegged videos. Same with the CD's From Long Beach and the LA Forum,I've been listening to them for 20 years on vinyl.The bright side is the quality will be 100 times better. From my perspective,and I've heard lots of bootlegged Zeppelin stuff,I'm a little mystified at why they chose the LA '72 concerts for the CD when,again in my opinion,stuff from their '77 North American Tour I think is far superior.Maybe the bad memories of that tour,I don't know. Live at the LA Forum in'77 is one of my personal favourites especially when Keith Moon and Bonham go at it. I wonder if there is video for that.

I love "In My Time of Dying" - what a great song. I also love that so much of their stuff is defferent. Like the Beatles and Stones, they are a goupr that wasn't afraid to experiment (LZ III). Any artist who gets some level of success today just repeats the same formula until we are sick of it (Counting Crows, Creed, Mettalica). LZ tried many experiments in music which is probably why it is difficult to get bored of them. If you get weary of the usual radio songs (Black Dog, Whole Lotta Love, et als) go back to listening to the other songs on the albums and "reinvent" LZ for yourself!

I've got all the cd's and boxed sets except the last one (the one where they are dressed like astronauts on the front). The new DVD collection is by far the best. Shows the band as a young inexperienced statup marvelling at their newfound success(Royal albert hall 1970), The on the rise at the launch of their third album(MSG 1973), at their height at Earls Court(1975) showing some INCREDIBLE acoustic versions of Going to California, Thats The Way, and closing with the Knebworth show(1979) just a year before Bonzos "vomitdeath"-the wear and tear really showing, but still a kick-ass show!

If you get any ZEP, this is the one to start with.

I've been listening to How the West Was Won for the past week and it is awesome.

The solo in Heartbreaker is sweet and is even better because to those of us familiar with Tenacious D there is a little "rock block of Bach" The first CD is all about rockin your socks off and is definitelly Zep at their best.

The second Cd is a lot like the "song remains the same" So unless you're really in the mood the 25 minutes Dazed and Confused and the 20 minute Moby Dick won't really do anything for you.

My favorite part of the 3rd Cd is the live version of the Ocean oh and Over the Hills and Far away on the 1st Cd is so kickass live. So for any reall zep fans out there I recommned this album.

I did end up getting the album.....Like said before, fuckign awesome....

I hated the plant/page album they did re-doing all the zep songs, it sucked.

You cant go wrong with zeppelin though. I've got all the major releases on cd and i'd like to start getten them on records, but the only place that has them new in town has like 4 of them for $50 a piece.

Yeah that's the way it is here too. But the records aren't even the real thing. They are new reissues or reprints or whatever you want to call them. They are like 40 bucks and that is just ridiculous for a record.

But ya, Jimmy Page is one of those guitar gods. And Led Zeppelin is one of tohse best bands ever. Thank god my dad pushed his music onto me as a kid.

The greatest ever and part of the most influential band of all time...

Led Zeppelin is unbelieveable. Most talented band ever. They could play many different types of music and all their songs sound different. Gone are the days when bands used to write really good songs that had meaning and feeling. As much as I would like to see Zep live I think it would be very different experience without Bonham there.
