What song makes you happy?

So many of you seem to be depressing people. So, what zone instantly makes you happy?

A few of mine are:
Flowers on the Wall-Statler Brothers
Sunshine, Lollipops, and Rainbows-Lesley Gore
The entire Barney Boogie album-Barney
Collaborations- KJ-52

Draconis 11-12-2004 01:30 PM

Most of the stuff I write does it for me, but other than that:
The Pin~a Colada Song - Anal Cunt
Battersea - Hooverphonic
Wake Up - Rage Against the Machine
Kilotin - Fireside
Freetime - Kenna
There's more, but I can't remember em right now.

braindamage351 11-22-2004 08:46 PM

The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots pt. 1
Slayer - Angel of Death (I just think it's funny, and the song is awesome.)

Yes! Ultimate happy song if you ask me.

Paradise Lost 11-22-2004 09:52 PM

Any song by Lucky, Otis, Charles Jr, Lefty, and Nelson.
Bonus points to whoever can figure that group out.

Also alot of Oldies make you just feel awesome. Not the slow, crappy ones, but the nice, fast moving, upbeat, almost rock-and-roll in a way oldies.

CityOfAngels 11-22-2004 11:06 PM

"A Kiss to Build a Dream On" by Louise Armstrong. I first heard it in the opening FMV for Fallout 2, and have loved that song ever since.

pinkie 11-23-2004 07:08 AM

CityOf Angels, that's my husband's and my song!! :) :) :)

the_marq 11-23-2004 07:10 AM

Blind Melon -- "No Rain"

I know it's kind of a sad song, but it always makes me feel good...probably because I'm not a heroin addict.

gboz 11-23-2004 11:04 AM

Is that the Highwaymen?

nope, that'd be the Traveling Wilburys, and I'd have to agree that anything by them would probably put a smile on my face.

Booray 11-23-2004 06:13 PM

One that just came to mind that always seems to make me happy when I happen to catch it on an oldies station: Rick Nelson's "Garden Party"

"But it's all right now, I learned my lesson well.
You see, ya can't please everyone, so ya got to please yourself"

pinkie 11-26-2004 12:07 AM

It makes me happy and sad at the same time......

A spoonful weighs a ton ~ by The Flaming Lips

And though they were sad they rescued everyone
They lifted up the sun
A spoonful weighs a ton
Giving more than they had
The process had begun
A million came from one
The limits now were none
Being drunk on their plan, they lifted up the sun
Forcing it off with their hands
The trap door came undone
Above our heads it swung
The privilege had been won
Being drunk on their plan, they lifted up the sun
Yelling as hard as they can
The doubters all were stunned
Heard louder than a gun
The sound they made was love

"Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" by Wham

Any song that induces a feeling of 'happiness' for me, needs to be one of the sort in which I can crank up the sterio, roll down the windows on my car, and sing along to while driving down the street.
