I've got no problem with it. My dad likes bands like Godsmack, Jet, Puddle of Mudd, etc. and he is pushing 50. There's no problem with appreciating good music (whatever your definition of that is). Nobody thinks a 16 year old who likes Pink Floyd is weird, do they?

I hope as I get older I stay in touch with all the good new music that comes out. Music is just too important to me, and i'd hate to get stuck only listening to the stuff I do now without ever evolving my tastes. My mother only listens to music from the 60's 70's and 80's.

A 16 year old that likes Pink Floyd? That's weird! Actually I'm kidding. Double standards are evident in many things, sometimes they aren't as evident. But keep listening to what you like. My wife hates my music selection (Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, Zevon, classic rock) but I still play it. Of course, I did invest in wireless headphones so I could move about the house and still listen.
