Tegan & Sara - So Jealous
 

Album of the year? Highly possible.

Tegan and Sara are lesbian sisters, and they absolutely rock my world. They have been making a name for themselves recently as constant show-stealers, and after opening for Jets Overhead in Victoria a couple weeks ago, they're sitting at #2 on the HMV sales charts here -- right between Black-Eyed Peas and Usher. That is BIG for two sisters who record all their own music, design their album artwork, and basically market themselves.

If you haven't heard anything, which could be likely, it's basically it's the catchiest indie-pop you might ever hear and I demand you locate "I Know I Know I Know" or "Speak Slow" or "So Jealous" or "Fix You Up" or just find the damn album and be so happy... it's priced cheap everywhere as well.

well, I'm a huge fan. My roommate blares them, so I hear them that way. I had to go buy they're last album because of it. So far I'm enjoying this new one through the walls too! :thumbsup:

Ive never heard of them. Im guessing there somewhere out of the US. Are they like TATU who r like "yea, were lesbians" and one of them gets pregrant by her boyfriend. Im just wondering, not hating on them at all.

They are Canadian who just happen to be lesbians. It is not their selling point, nor is it marketed. Its just something Journalists bring up.

Hot Hot Album by the way. I bought it on a whim the day it came out, only because of the reviews I had read on their previous albums.

I got it on the recommendation of a friend (who had actually NOT heard the album, but wanted me to check it out for him... ass), and am so happy for it. I have since gone and made him purchase it too, as well as another friend. That said, I'm not having to do much to see their sales rise, it seems like everyone out West is just in love with them. I'm definitely gonna get another album of theirs to see how the earlier stuff is... an album or two was actually produced by Hawksley Workman.

Well, seeing as they only have 2 other albums... it has to be one of them. The thing that I just noticed is that I have both of their other albums (This Business of Art/If It Was You) in my cdnow.com wishlist, and have made 2 orders from them since buying So Jealous. That was 2 chances wasted of actually getting their previous works!
