Making your own musical instruments - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

Have you ever made your own musical instrument? Could be anything, from a didgeridoo to an electric guitar. This is an area that interests me and I'd love to make an accoustic stringed instrument someday. I've watched the Handmade Music series on DIY television at least 5 times now and I'm about ready to bite the bullet and start tinkering. For a while I was hung up on not having the right tools and then I realized that no one had some of the tools i thought I was needing back in the 16th century either.
