New Chevelle album - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

Does anyone have the new Chevelle album yet? I'm not normally a fan of the "nu-metal" sound but I really like these guys. They are the ONLY group with that sound that I enjoy. Anyway, I picked it up from Tower today after class and I am totally blown away by it so far. It is very much like the previous work, maybe a little "harder" at times. Change can be good at times, but the Chevelle lads have done a very good job of keeping things as they should be. I like it more than Wonder What's Next because it feels more consistent. The whole album just seems to roll along, and never stagnates in one place for long. My only complaint about it would be that it does not sound like it was recorded well. It sounds like it was multitracked to beat the band, because the instruments do not stage well on my system. Vocals are done well, but the rest just sounds like it is coming from my speakers. I'm taking it to work today, and that will be the ultimate test. If it performs well there, then I will tweak my stuff accordingly.

I give it 4.5 Denon DVD-2200 universal transports that I'm listening to it on out of a possible 5, merely for the recording quality.

Ehh it is good, but like you said a little too much like their last album. But good none the less, just a little boiring
