Whats the 14:09:04 thing for? Certainly not the release date..there is no 14th. Sorry I know jack about Megadeth to be honest so I'm more than likely being an idiot right now.

Some people put the date before the month. 14.09.04 would be September 14th, 2004. I always do it the other way (9.14.04) but I know a lot of people that do it the "backwards" way.

PS: Megadeth is awesome. I don't know anything about them though...just the fact that they have some awesome songs.

yea, in most countries other than the us, the date comes first, then the month. Ive heard some of the leaked stuff for this already and while its no rust in peace, its not bad.

Megadeth is awesome, one of my fav bands ever. I've got every single album of thiers, and this includes the remastered stuff.

The new album comming out is also quite amazing, it has a bit of a different feel, but it is still the same old megadeth. Back alive kicking ass. (Yeah I dl'd a leaked album, shame shame , I am still buying the cd no matter what.)

Sorry guys, I'm Canadian, eh

I too have downloaded the leaked version, Destrox. I was thinking of preordering it from the Megadeth site to get a free t-shirt though.

Megadeth hit me in high school pretty badly. Their video for "Sweating Bullets" was the first I ever saw of them, but it wasn't the last. I can't wait for the new cd!

Megadeth do indeed rule, but this album is no rust in piece.

Certainly better then Risk/Cryptic/TWNAH. But not their best. (I have heard it : o)

Kick the Chair = best.

I disagree... Die Dead Enough, Back in the Day, Tears in a Vial, Of Mice and Men all come before Kick the Chair in my opinion.

Die Dead Enough is the first single.

BTW: Many of us have heard it. It was leaked months ago.

For those too young to remember.....

Try to find a copy of National Lampoon's "Lemmings" album. It was released in 1973, and features John Belushi, Chevy Chase, and Christopher Guest WAY before anybody had ever heard of them. It is a parody of the Woodstock and Altamont concerts, and closes with a heavy metal group called Megadeath (with an extra "a" added to the spelling). Interesting.

What's the lineup for the new Megadeth record? Didn't take Dave all that long to get a band together and make a new album. Last I heard of him, he was retiring from music because of some kind of injury that made it difficult to play guitar. Or something like that...

I never listened to metal before I met my DH in '88, I was a strictly new wave/punk person. Shortly after we got together and I started going to his band practices, I learned to appreciate metal. Megadeth was one of those first bands I learned to love along with (primarily) Metallica and Anthrax (still love Scott Ian to this day!).

DH has been pretty appethetic over the years about Metallica and Megadeth because his band for 4 yrs. in HS played their music mostly and he got burned out. I on the other hand never became desensitized to it because it was all new to me when I first heard it. However, he has said to me that James and Dave etc. are starting to go back or at least sound like their original roots in their new music. I hope so because that is the sound I learned to love and although it's dated now, it's still IMHO the heart of metal music.

PS: Just to throw a few more of my favorite bands out there from that era: Primus (still love Les and Co. to this day), Queensrhyche (horrible sp I know), and Flotsem and Jetsom (for a very limited selection).
