Best soundtracks

This has probably been done before, but I'm really new to TFP.
What, in your opinion, is the best soundtrack in history? That is to say what soundtrack best enhansed your love of a movie?

Example: Jaws features the infamous theme written by John Williams

My favorite's would have to be Clockwork Orange and 2001: A Space Oddesey (I'm a sucker for Kubrick)

The soundtrack for the first Matrix, definitely. The compilation one. The Matrix OST would have to be 2nd for me.

I love soundtracks - to the degree that I basically prefer them to "normal" music. I couldn't list just one, but off the top of my head:

- Night On Earth, Tom Waits
- Solaris (2002), Cliff Martinez
- Lost In Translation, Various
- Any of various Dario Argento films with music by the Goblins
- The Mission, Ennio Morricone
- Any of various Peter Greenway films with music by Michael Nyman

Yeah it was done already in this thread. For my all time personal favorite (since Highlander was already taken) I picked the soundtrack to The Last Unicorn it's done entirely by America.

It's not. It's probably on page 15 for all I know but the mods are usually pretty strict when it comes to the topic of someone not doing a search before starting a thread no matter how old the thread is. I'm surprized they haven't closed this. Thats what they did to me when I asked how old everyone here is on Gen. Discussion...they linked me to the topic (prolly like 5 years old, then I have to add if I wanna know) and then closed my post. Sorry if I came across as a dick by posting that...just lettin you know.

Is it just me ... or is that a link to a CNN story about the Clerks sequel?

Soundtrack to the movie "Angus". It was a cheesy kid movie but had some great punk/alternative music on it. The soundtrack featured Green Day, Ash, Dance Hall Crashers, The Muffs, and many more. Very cool and upbeat soundtrack!

Soundtrack to Conan: The Barbarian. I think it's quite good.
