Norwegian Music

Does anyone else have a bit of an obsession with Norwegian music?

Absolute favourites would be St. Thomas (who you have all probably never heard of) and Kings of Convenience (who you might have :)) but I seem to like anything from that little corner of the world :)

Anyone have any good Norwegian recommendations or just want to admit they have a problem too?!? :)

Hmmm...can't say I have an obsession with Norwegian music but I do like a few
norwegian bands like:

Whopper
Gluecifer
Dimmu Borgir
Motorpsycho

and a few others.

I don't have an obsession with Norwegian music either but I am very fond of Röyksop :D

Isnt turbonegro from norway?

castex 07-28-2004 11:04 AM

Do Aha count?

billys 07-28-2004 11:52 AM

Not really :)

St. Thomas is great but difficult to classify :) some call it Alternative country but its not really... its like a really quirky cool laid back style... like an upbeat Lambchop...

if you want to hear a track then MSN me (in profile) and I will send you a track :)

I love Royksopp too Nancy.. you would love some of Erlend Oye's (he is one half of the Kings of Convenience) dance stuff if you like them... in fact he has remixed some of Royksopp's stuff on some of his albumns... This is a good one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...245409-8527808

and unfortunately Aha is the weak point castex :)

Checking out your recommendations though JadedFox and redarrow...

royksopp is pretty cool. i was going to see them play a few months ago, but they were touring without the "singer." aren't they about due for another album?

westothemax 07-29-2004 09:53 PM

Sondre Lerche! Who is currently featured on Sputnik7.com [link]

I'll have to check out the other bands listed here.

I dunno, but those guys are crazy. One of them teabagged my friend who was working security in front of the stage at a club they played in San Francisco.

Yes they are. In Norway they are known as Torboneger (equals Torbonegro)
