If you could just change one thing about that song...

Specifically I am thinking and bitching about "Long Time Gone" by Crosby, Stills and Nash. I love Crosby's rich vocals, the slow but pulsating ultra-deep bass, the occasional guitar riff thrown in to rev it up...and then the chorus hits. I love the three part harmonies throughout the entire album, but they seem horribly out of place in this song. I love this song, but it would be so much better with only Crosby singing.

What are songs that could be so much more enjoyable to listen to if they had just done one thing differently?

I think they should remaster Cocteau Twins' entire Treasure album and replace the cheesy "machine gun" drum machine with a human drummer. Liz Frazier's voice is too awesome to be accompanied by inferior 1980s technology.

The bridge in the middle of "Where your eyes don't go" by They Might Be Giants, it just never fit with the rest of the song... in fact, it's an entirely different song altogether... :hmm:

Get rid of the "rock out" part in the middle of "Behind Blue Eyes" by The Who

Man, so many songs would be so much better if the guys in the bands hadn't been thinking that repeating the chorus one last time was such a great idea.

"Dude, we only have two verses. crap!"
"Don't worry, we'll just sing the chorus a few more times, no one will notice!"

No more Tears by Iron Maiden on their new album. Its awesome up until bruce starts screaming NO MORE TEARS 10x on each chorus.
in the words of my dad while we were listening to it in the car, "Where the fuck do you find this shit?"

The one thing about Oukast's "Roses" is to make it so its not PLAYED ON THE FRIGGIN RADIO EVERY 15 FRIGGIN MINUTES! I AM TYPING IN CAPITALS! I AM MAD! ARRRRRRRGH!

Edit: Great song though

Any Smashing Pumpkins song when the music stops and is just Billy Corgan's vocals. I can think of at least 3 songs they do that on, and it makes me embarrassed for him.

While this isn't just that one part, it is pretty damn funny. Only because it's true. Overplaying songs, for me, makes me not like them anymore. Ever. Mostly because the overplaying of the songs puts nothing but bad memories and experiences in my head.
