I have this dream. Cliff Burton comes back from the dead as a pissed off zombie and proceeds to rip apart Lars Ulrich to my amusement. Maybe Cliff is that monster probably not..but I can hope.

I'll go see it. Metallica is my favorite band, and St. Anger is my favorite album by them. I like how they play Some Kind of Monster at the end...that's possibly my favorite song by Metallica.

if you watched the "Jump in the Studio" videos that were on the website during the production of St. Anger, you saw a portion of the documentary already. it was fucking awesome. these guys are crazy, I don't care what other people think. I don't care if people call them washed out, untalented, bastards-for-taking-down-napster, too old, embarassing, shitheads. They are one of my favorite bands, and the complaining means nothing to me :) I saw from the videos on the website (which compile part of the documentary) that these guys aren't fucking sell outs. They hold their music true, and put out albums that not everyone will like. That's better than half the fucking artists that play today.

Well said.

shame that albums like St. Anger have such god-awful shitty mastering though.

SecretMethod70 06-03-2004 12:09 PM

You know, I like Metallica as a band and I'll probably see this. I definitely disagree with their stance on some issues, but their music is really very good, and I've always found it funny how any time a band changes their style a bit they're called "sell outs."

Well said and just because people catch up to your music and buy it is that selling out or being successful--which in my world isn't a bad thing!!!

every band out there was a metalliclone so they had to change. I still love their music but wish St Anger would have had the sound quality it deserved. The songs were so much better on the "live" dvd included with the album

Saw it last week, very entertaining stuff. Gives you a lot of insight into the band/members as well. Not exactly a thrill ride, but it's not dead boring either. Some moments of humor. You get to see Bob Rock being a big whiney loser too. So that's always good.

Thumb and a half up!

Lasereth 08-12-2004 03:02 PM

None of the fucking theaters around here have it!! I want to see it so bad. Metallica is my favorite band and my favorite album is St. Anger (well, maybe not favorite, but at least tied with Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning). I've seen a ton of the movies at www.metallica.com and I'd love to see a long one. Metallica rocks!!

alt.binaries.svcd has it. It was uploaded on the 1st, so if your server has good retention times, you should be able to snag it.

I'm not trying to be "pro-pirate" or anything, just letting ya know it's there so you could see it now, then wait till it comes to your city (or DVD) and then pay for it at that time. I don't think many theaters will show it.

The only place I've seen it listed was at the AMC in Times Square (I think it's AMC..)
