All time favorite concert (not concerts)
Hey.... what's the best show you've been to? Give it alot of thought, because you only have one to choose from.
Mine would definately be Bruce Springsteen. I saw him at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center for the Born in the USA tour. He came out and did Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Who'll stop the rain" and never stopped playing for 4 1/2 hours. The energy that he and the E Street band displayed was unbelievable. This was a show, not like the recent show that 50 cent did at a local university where he came out an hour and 15 minutes late and only played for 40 minutes. |
I think the best concert I've seen was the first time I saw Billy Joel. It was on the River of Dreams tour in Cincinnati. He was just all over the place for the entire show, and didn't really slow down at all. I was blown away by the performance of him and his band.
|
I'd have to say that my favorite concert was with Wyclef. It was part of some tour featuring the Black Eyed Peas, De La Soul. It was in an auditorium with assigned seats and security were being jackasses, making sure everybody was sitting in their seats and crap, so the crowd didn't really get into it for the first two groups.
About 2 songs into Wyclef's set the crowd was kind of quiet, due to the oppressive security. So Wyclef calls off security, and in about 20 seconds all 3000 people of the venue are now in the first 10 rows, standing on the chairs and going nuts. I ended up about 6 feet from the stage. He then spent the next 3 hours covering all of his songs and all of the Fugee's stuff, even some 80's stuff. More so than any other performer I've seen, he had the audience in the palm of his hand. |
The best concert I've seen would have to be when I saw Bob Dylan and Paul Simon in concert in Las Vegas in 1997 (maybe '98). It was my first time seeing Dylan in concert and it blew me away. The energy emitted from "Highway 61" and "Like a Rolling Stone" was just out of this world. Paul Simon was incredible as well, and seeing them take the stage together made that day unforgetable.
|
Iron Maiden with Megadeth opening for them. Back in '88.
|
March 1992.
Maple Leaf Gardens. U2 for their Auchtung Baby Concert. They were so good, I could have cried. |
Reel Big Fish and Goldfinger playing Bogarts in Cincinnati. 5 bands on that tour with 2 headliners. Found a new favorite band that night in Riddlin Kids.
|
Saw Pink Floyd in some stadium in Hamilton, Ontario many years ago. They came out and played about an hour and a half set (mostly from Wish You Were Here). They took a break, and came back out right at sunset and played the entire Dark Side of the Moon album from start to finish. That wasn't enough though. Ended by playing Echos for about forty five minutes. I was totally blown away that night and still get chills thinking about it.
|
Fuck anyone who thinks I'm lame, I don't care. Say Bobby McFerrin about five years after "Don't Worry, Be Happy." He performed some alone and some with other singers, but the best moment by far was when he performed the violin part of Ave Maria with his voice, as several audience members sang the vocal part. I was brought to tears, it was so beautiful. Lots of rock concerts were good, but that one moment will always be with me.
|
I'd have to say Socil Distortion with Skinny Black Tie opening.
It was a great concert even if the venue was a concrete box. I had a good friend who was also a beautiful woman with me and the music it all the right spots. |
Best show was the Ronnie Lane benefit at Madison Square Garden.I was 18.My girlfriend was 15. Took a bus from Ottawa and ended up in N.Y. Eric Clapton,Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Pete Townsend, Joe Cocker, Steve Winwood and more.Great show, great time. 20 years later it's almost like a dream.
|
the Rolling Stones Forty Licks Tour in Sydney.
incredible show. hard to believe they've been around that long! |
If I could only pick one it would have to be ZZ Top in a tiny venue right after the Apple Bowl in WA. Great football game, great buddies, great beer :D, then a kick ass concert with the best laser show I've seen yet. What a great day that was!
|
Jailhouse Rock Tour 2003. Saw The Unseen, Discipline (they sucked), Murphy's Law (lead singer funny as hell), Agnostic Front, and Hatebreed. 20 bucks for a fucking awesome show!!
|
2002 Warped Tour ;)
|
I think it was 93 or 94.
Radiohead/Belly/The Bats Would you believe Radiohead went on before Belly? They were touring to promote the Pablo Honey album, so they were still "that band with the Creep song." Smallish club, beautiful night, friends around and cold drinks. Tanya Donnely and Thom Yorke singing Belly's "untogether" as a duet at the end...good show. |
I've seen a LOT of great shows, but the best ever was Yes, the Union Tour at Riverfront Colesium in Cincinnatti, summer of 92. Long story behind this, which I wont go into here. Maybe some other time. In any case, as a BIG Yes fan from way back, I was enthralled to see all 8 of the most important Yes players on stage at the same time.
GREAT SHOW! |
Tool july 2002.
there with a fine young lady who just about crushed my arm she was so overwhelmed. the show was amazing, osseus (sp) labyrinth were amazing, and i still cant get over it... they played triad :):) |
No question about it. The absolute BEST concert was Paul McCartney last year in Atlanta (I think it was a year ago, today, actually).
Since I was a touring musician for a number of years, I'm kind of jaded by concerts. But my God, I was up and singing and even -gulp- dancing. That old fart can rock...the...house. |
U2 - Joshua Tree Tour - Boston Garden 9/18/87....the lighting system broke down, they played over half of the set with the house lights on....absolutely unbelievable...Bono came out in a Larry Bird shirt for the encores....
|
Clapton Reptile tour in Atlanta. Was an amazing show, and his back-up band was spectacular.
The opening group was horrible - could hardly hear them, and the quality was worse than straight feedback. We were worried that our couple-hundred-dollar tickets were going to go to waste. When they left, the first thing the roadies did was lay out a huge oriental rug in the middle of the stage. Clapton never left it throughout the show. His songs were amazing, and the improvs blew me away. Well done. |
Medeski, Martin and Wood in the music club where I bartended in the early 90's (back before MMW became a noodling patchouli band) was a good time.
The best show, however, was the farewell show of a band of friends of mine. They were fairly small time and toured the southeastern US without too much notice, but that show was great. 1,500 people dancing and cheering on a group of guys who I drank beer and laughed with... It was a pretty moving night. Long live the Dingo Fish... |
KODO
|
Heehee. The best concert I've ever been to was at the Jackson Schoolhouse in my suburban town...it's really a neighborhood clubhouse. This band that is now called University (Postal back then, check them out on www.mp3.com) played, and they were the reason we went...four adorable guys who could actually play their instruments and sing like angels. I was probably sixteen at the time, dancing with my friends, having a great time. We knew every word to every song. Ohh, good times. ;)
|
probably the best overall concert was when i went to go see Orbital at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC back in umm... 2000 i think... they had Death in Vegas and the Crystal Method opening - they were fantastic, and i was thinking to myself "how is orbital going to top this?"
well, they did. they did big time. my runner up is when i went to see the indigo girls play at the PNC bank arts center just last summer - K's Choice opened for them. This wasn't such a big deal in itself cause i've seen both bands several times before, but BOTH of them this time did acoustic sets - Amy & Emily just alone with their guitars together are probably the two most talented female musicians EVER. throw in an AWESOME acoustic set from the chick from k's choice and her brother (the rest of the band had gone back home) and you had an unbelievable night... wow. |
i was at first going to say the jesus lizard, but i must instead choose the one and only time i saw nirvana. they weren't even scheduled to play the show, but came onstage while we were waiting for mudhoney. the surprise added to the experience for sure, plus it was very soon after nevermind came out - so people were pretty excited about nirvana at that moment. i got really really sweaty
|
I am definately not a KISS fan. I probably can't even name one of their songs, but I bought my wife tickets as a present and I have to admit they put on a hell of a show.
|
I have seen a lot of shows, but this one was by far the best:
April 26th, 1988 - I am looking at the Ticket stub right now.. Guns N Roses/Udo Dirksneider from ACCEPT/Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction. It was in Burlington, IOWA at the Memorial auditorium. It was a freakin' barn. About 1000 people and the place was packed. This was just before the band went through the roof. The album was only out for a bit. The show started at 7:30pm and by 1am the auditorium made GnR...MADE them get off the stage.. The opening acts were awesome as well, but Guns came out and played everything off of A4D then they played the tunes from Lies..then..Whole lotta Rosie..and at one point Slash screams out..what DO you guys want us to play? people were shouting out tunes and they were playing riffs and songs from the top of their heads.. What an amazing night..when my friends and I left we thought that this band would be huge..but we would have never thought in a million years what a DICK Axl would end up being..he was awesome that night.. I never saw them again--basically because I felt there would be no way they could top that performance.. and from what friends and the media stated, I was right! |
I've seen some great shows, allot of great shows. But the one that stands out in my mind the most was Paul McCartney in Orlando Florida in 1993. This was his last concert of his last world tour ever. And he and his band played like they would never play again. 4.5 hours of music, lights, pirotechnics, and just pure entertainment. Paul played everything from The Beatles, Wings, to the current albulm, Off the Ground. I don't think he left out anything. The greatest moment for me was when, at the end of the show, Paul sang Maybe I'm Amazed to Linda with her in his arms. Truly a gem memory in my mind.
I can still hear him singing Baby you can Drive my Car.. Beep Beep.. Beep Beep.. Yeah! And sorry, I have to mention one more.. Elton John and Billy Joel, also in Orlando. In a freezing November rain, I sat through an awsome show. Probably would have been my #1 show if it weren't for that.. |
For me it was probably Pink Floyd at the Meadowlands (1994, I think.) During Comfortably Numb when the massive mirrorball popped out of the middle of the floor and the spun it at a point for a few seconds where it looked like the ball was standing still and the stadium was spinning was so ungodly cool.
|
Phish. This year. Cincinnati
|
Pink Floyd- 1975 england, I don't remember where(I was stoned), They showed movies on a big screen above them and had a plane crash into the stage during the DSOTM set. I was completely gone and it still made a great impression on me.
|
best concert for me would probably have been foo fighters. they really knew how to work the crowd.
|
I've only been to one, Linkin Park.
It wasn't bad, but the queue was so long we missed the first band, Adema also played there. They weren't half bad. |
Pearl Jam, Red Rocks Colorado. Summer of like... I dunno... '98 or something. After the Vitology album, but before they started recording crap. It rained all night, but being drunk and soaked, bellowing along with "Black" was the greatest.
|
The most fun concert for me was the Sanitarium Tour in 2000. Metallica, Kid Rock, Korn, and System of a Down. Powerman 5000 was there also but I don't like them.
The most memorable concert was Train at the Ritz in Raleigh. But the next two concerts I'm going to might be more memorable. |
Haven't been to a lot of concerts but I just saw Red Hot Chili Peppers a couple of weeks ago. Great show. Best live albums for me off the top of my head have to be between The Allman Brothers Band : Live at the Filmore East (its practically a Jazz album its so improvisational), and The Roots : Come Alive.
|
The first concert I ever saw is still the best it was the Beatles summer on '66 Memphis Tn.
|
theres two that stick out in my mind more than any others, both at the Agora in Cleveland ...
Bouncing Souls/Anti-Flag on Sept. 19, 2002... though not a fan of Anti-Flag at all, they put on one hell of a show, followed by the Bouncing Souls playing an amazing set. For an encore both bands came out on stage, and began playing as one band, covering the Souls' "The Freaks, the Nerds, and the Romantics" and then covering A-F's "Thats Youth." The cover of Thats's Youth was amazing. so much energy and feeling went into playing that song, it was definately unforgettable. The other concert that sticks out in my mind is the Dropkick Murphys in October or November (i forget which) of 2001. They played an almost hour and a half set, followed by the entire audience rushing the stage and climbing up on it for the final 3 or 4 songs. All in all, id have to say that the Bouncing Souls/ AF concert was my favorite |
Tool in nov 2002. Was very surreal and a total mind fuck, and I wasn't even tripping on anything.
|
The best concert I have seen was The Jesus and Mary Chain with Nine Inch Nails opening. It was about March of 1990, in Phila. I went for Jamc and left a believer in NIN. At least until the next album came out. NIN was fucking unbelievable. It warped my wittle mind.
|
Okay, Metallica July 4, 1989 at Pine Knob, they played for like 3 hours straight... It was the And Justice for All tour, they totally kicked ass, my ears still hurt.
|
Opeth.
|
I'm gonna go with Warped Tour 2002 at the Tweeter Center in Jersey. All the bands there were great and Flogging Molly put on one hell of a performance at the end. This year might be better with the Drop Kick Murphy's.
|
Incubus Summer 2002 at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.
|
The President's of the united states of america. oh, sometime back in 95 or 96, i think. great though. saw a 4 year old kid crowd surf
|
I havn't seen many big concerts but my fav had to be Nickelback on top of a mountian a couple years ago with only about 500 ppl. All/most drunk and/or stoned. Was a real 'people performance' before they were big.
|
Pink Floyd - 1994 - Soldier Field. The rain seemed to start and stop at the beginning/ends of songs. Pretty amazing.
|
GWAR...Halloween night.. Washington, D.C., 2001. Totally crazy!!
They even had their own Presidential debates...GWAR-style.. was just too good. |

*fuming with anger, resentment, awe, envy, and respect* The Beatles. You got to see the frickin' Beatles. I bow to your greatness. There was a radio station in Montgomery, AL called WBAM back then, and the owner owned stations in Memphis, Birmingham, and Jacksonville, FL, also. He had booked The Beatles to play in his four towns during that 66 tour. My folks were all set to buy us tickets, and our whole family was going to go. And then Lennon had to open his big fat mouth. And then Birmingham started burning records. And then, as if by magic, Birmingham and Montgomery were dropped from the tour (although Memphis and Jacksonville remained). My folks didn't want to make the drive that far, so I never got to see them. Dang it. |
In Flames with Soilwork, Unearth, and Chiamaira. Last night. In flames did 18 songs. My ear is still ringing. I'm sore from crowd surfing. All the bands did great shows.
|
I've been to lots of great concerts over the years and Queen was easily the best live band I've ever seen. I feel privileged to have seen Freddie Mercury, IMHO the greatest singer and showman that Rock has ever seen: his voice was without equal and the man could work a crowd like no else. It was an unforgettable evening.
|
best show ive been to was pretty recent.
ZZ Top and Ted Nugent w/Kenny Wayne Sheppard opening I went because of Top but i rocked the hardest to the Nuge. He played louder than anything ive ever heard and it was the greatest thing ever. ZZ Top was really good too...except the fact that Frank Beard(the man with no beard) looked like he just wanted to leave throughout the whole set. Kenny Wayne Sheppard was okay...they played a hell of a cover of Voodoo Chile. If i didn't know any better i almost would have thought it was Hendrix up there...maybe not but it was pretty close. |
Radiohead in Montreal. 99 or so.
|
I saw Rush in 96 or 97, right after Test for Echo. Great set, but some smartass in front of me blabbed the setlist he got off the internet, which I hadn't looked up on purpose. Worth a mention if only for seeing Neil Peart play.
Other than that, Andrew WK puts on a crazy show, and Blink 182 was just pure, juvenile fun. |
It's hard to choose .. I've been to some great concerts ..
One of them that stands out was Massive Attack .. during their Mezzanine tour. I expected them to be good .. but not *this* great. They blew me away with their cool intensity. Most of the show had the band backlit by stage lighting, so you could barely see the band members except in silhouette. It made for a very moody and 'dark' concert. |
AC/DC 2000, melbourne. 6rows back 4 seats from centre, crowd going off, awesome
|
Best concerts were:
McCartney - Flowers in the Dirt Tour KISS - Farewell Tour and everytime I've seen Bob Seger Best of his was the Greatest Hits Tour (96 I think) at Pine Knob in Michigan. He brought out former drummer Charlie Martin, who had left the band after an accident. Charlie played the piano and Bob played an acoustic guitar to "Jody Girl". I'm tellin' ya, it was so fantastic, there were bikers cryin'. |
Dave Matthews Band...July 2001 Giants Stadium...The concert with Two Step in the rain.....if your a dave fan you'll know what i'm talking about..
|
1985 REM played a small club in Athens, Uptown Lounge, under a pseudonym - Hornets Attack Victor Mature. Only about 100 people in the place. I knew a bartender who told me to show up and not to worry about who was playing that night - cost a whopping $2 to see them get ready ready for the Fables of the Reconstruction tour!
|
the best was probably when i saw stone temple pilots and red hot chillie peppers. It was an amazing concert.
|
Live at the Gorge in Washington when they were touring for their throwing copper album. It was a surprisingly good show. That or George Strait or Eric Clapton. All good shows
|
The best concert I've been to would probably have to be Eric Clapton in 2001. That's mostly due to the fact that Clapton is, by far, my favorite musician. It was an awesome concert, but it could have been better. It's definitely my favorite, but in all honesty, it probably isn't the BEST concert I've been to. That title would go to Paul McCartney in 2002. Three hours of non-stop McCartney...I was left speechless.
Clapton's solos were bar-none the best I've ever heard, though. I just wish he would have just stood up there for like 10-20 minutes and jammed like he did in his Cream days. When he is just up there jamming, he is easily the best guitarist...ever. |
I agree with paddyjoe and Derwood. I saw the Dead maybe 100 times in the late '80's and early '90's. Seen quite a few metal shows. Nothing compares to Pink Floyd. I saw them in '87 (?) in the horseshoe in Columbus, OH, and again in '93 (?) in the Pontiac Silverdome. Once with a lot of hallucinogens. Once without. Both times I didn't speak a word for three hours. Even during intermission. I didn't speak a fucking word. I didn't move. I was completely dumbfounded. I kept looking at David Gilmour, like an ant way down on the stage, and wondering, "How the fuck can he play a song, or even stand up, with all that crazy shit going on around him?" Musically it wasn't that great. They hit some sour notes, but it didn't matter. It gives me chills now to think abou it.
|
I have loved the Rolling Stones - Bridges to Babylon concert in the Amsterdam Arena. This summer they're returning for 40 licks and I am certainly there. Best show ever, great music and they never stopped playing for 3,5 hours.
What I also like is that a friend of my father is pretty popular local singer, so when he sold the Olympic Stadion in Amsterdam it was awesome to be there and being able to walk around everywhere as a crewmember :) |
Man,this is tough I've seen evertyone from James Taylor to Megadeth...
Dio was good. Aerosmith puts on a great show. ZZ Top [my first concert ws awesome]. Tesla last year, wow...and I won't even talk about all the bands who I've seen in clubs... I'd have to say the one that stands out most for me [maybe not the best, but the most impact] had to be seeing Motley Crue for the first time when they opened for Ozzy...just blew me away with how awesome they were. A close second would be Metallica at the worcester centrum in the 80s...they also changed my world...Twisted Sister, Ratt and Lita ford on the pier in NYC Awesome...so many more but i've already cheated enough |
Radiohead in Boston 2001 - hopefully they'll reset that to Radiohead in Boston 2003 in like 6 weeks.
|
I saw BB King when I was 18 (9 years ago) in a bar in Owensboro, KY. Doesn't get much better then that.
|

Rush - Moving Pictures tour
Genesis - Invisible Touch tour Nine Inch Nails - Downward Spiral tour Tool - Lateralus tour Billy Joel (yes, Billy Joel - One of the best shows I have ever seen). |
my absolute fave would be the eagles FIRST reunion tour in 94 at rice stadium in houston (when their ticket prices were reasonable). not only did they play EVERYTHING that was good, but there was also solo material from henley, walsh, and frye. awsome show!
|
very few bands come to perth, cause its the most isolated city on the world. Nevertheless, out of all the shows i've seen (which would only be about 10 anyways) tools lateralus 2002 tour (on may 4th i believe) was fucking incredible and a fantastical show. That'd be hard to top.
can't wait to see radiohead soon tho :) |
Nine Inch Nails and David Bowie at Blossom Music Center. Bowie came out to sing "Hurt" with Reznor, what a great show. I'll never forget it.
|
Mine would have to be Prince back in '96. On the "Emancipation" tour. He covered most of his entire catalogue, which is pretty extensive. The crowd was in a great mood, everybody dancing and happy. He did two encores and even came out in a white pimp suit for the last. It was great.
And on the complete opposite end of the spectrum, my second favorite would have to be Marilyn Manson on the "Antichrist Superstar" tour. Dude knows how to put on a show. |
Well I'd have to go with Pink Floyd - the Division Bell Tour - at Mile High Stadium in Denver. I had to call an out of state ticketmaster number to get tickets because the phone lines were jammed. So I didn't have very good seats but it was an amazing show.
Second would have to be Rush at Fiddlers Green Colorado last year. I brought a friend with me who didn't know very many Rush songs and she was just amazed at the music and the show. |
Ozzy.
Wish I had been around for the '73 Led Zeppelin concert at the gardens though. That was one good band. |
Metallica - December 31st 1999
Saw them with Sevendust, Kid Rock, and Ted Nugent. They put on such a badass show, was the best way ever to welcome the year 2000. |
Wow....tough one. Just one? Geez.
Guess it would have to be.....Van Halen, 1979. They were opening for Black Sabbath, who couldn't hold a candle to the young, wild, David Lee Roth and the blistering guitar of out-of-the-blue Eddie Van Halen. We were front row, after having endured 11 hours in line with thousands of others. Fantastic! |
Grateful Dead, Cap Center, St. Patrick's Day 3/17/93
http://www-2.cs.cmu.edu/~mleone/gdea...93/3-17-93.txt although, ozzfest in 98 was amazing, and i am so very, very glad to have seen kiss live on their protracted "farewell" tour. the saddest concert ever is woodstock 99. when i think about it, i weep for the future. |
Nine Inch Nails. Awesome.
|
Hm. probably due to a combination of inexperience with concerts and youth and personal moments of glory, the best thing I ever saw was the Dead Kennedys with Butthole Surfers opening in NY in 86. That pretty much ruined me for a normal life right there.
|
one? ONE?!! that's just mean. and impossible. I go to too many concerts to pick just one... are you freakin' crazy?
GN'R - Perkins Palace, Pasadena (r.i.p.) '86/'87 (New Year's Eve) You just KNEW these guys were gonna be huge. I'd seen them in clubs a few times already but this show really stood out. I remember Adler's arm was broken (but he was running around the stage anyway) and Fred Coury from Cinderella was bangin' the skins. Great f-ing night. Melissa Etheridge - California Theatre, San Diego '89 First album had just come out; there were maybe 300 people there and I'd seen her in a bar in Long Beach previously, but this was different. She had a BAND now! Oooooh! And they had just come back from their first tour of Europe and had a bunch of new songs to play. "Royal Station" always makes me think of this show... Neil Young - Greek Theatre, L.A. '90 Freedom tour, he played Rockin' in the Free World twice "cuz I really like this song." 4 encores - people wouldn't budge even when the house lights came up. David & Graham came out and sang "Ohio" with him. Maria frickin' McKee opened for him. Everything about that night was magic. Toy Matinee - Roxy, L.A. '91 You just had to be there. Both shows, but #2 was better. Kevin Gilbert, Marc Bonilla, Spencer Campbell, Toss Panos and Kevin's girlfriend Sheryl Crow on keys. I stil get chills. Walden Woods benefit - Universal Amphitheater, L.A. '91 Neil Young, John Fogerty, Roger Waters and Don Henley. Don singing Gilmour's parts on "Comfortably Numb" is something I'll never forget and Neil played from a circle of guitars...and he used all of them. First time I'd ever heard him play "After the Gold Rush" on a pump organ, too. Wow. Just... wow. Lindsey Buckingham - Coach House, San Juan Capistrano '92 opening of the "Out of the Cradle" tour and the first time anyone heard "Big Love" with just him and an acoustic. It's a staple of Mac shows now, but it was friggin' mind-blowing that night, as was the whole show. 7 guitarists, 2 drummers. never heard Mac songs sound that _full_ before in concert. (the Wiltern show the next week gets an honorable mention) Brian Setzer Orchestra - The Joint, Las Vegas '98 (New Year's Day) They blew the doors off the dump, plain and simple. Mike Keneally/Reeves Gabrels - Baked Potato, Hollywood '01 absolutely smokin'... Train - House of Blues, L.A. '01 I have _never_ seen that place so in tune with a band before or since. honorable mention: I saw Better than Ezra at HoB, L.A. last summer and they got blown off the stage by the opening act, Cowboy Mouth. I'd heard their name before, but never any of their music. I have 4 CDs now. GREAT show! Highly recommend seeing them live... |
Easy - Sugar in Iowa City in the Spring of 93. Fairly small room, but it rocked! I was in good shape, and I still came out of the pit absolutely exhausted. It was one of the best shows that Bob Mould has ever done IMHO. The Chicago concert in the fall of 94 was excellent too, and that was the last time that they ever did "Explode & Make Up".
Ah, the days when even second tier bands were making better music than 95% of what's out there today.... Just remember that NYKOTB gave way to Nirvana.... |
I want to list three or four, but in keeping with the rules of the thread... I'm gonna go with my first Jimmy Buffett concert. It was my First Look - and I've been an avid parrothead ever since.
|
The Ataris at the Fireside Bowl in Chicago. It is a really small place, a bowling alley actually. The stage only comes up to right under your knees. My friend and I got on stage to sing 'San Dimas High School Football Rules' with Kris Roe. So awesome. He was much chunkier then.....
|
Live Aid, Philly, July 13, 1985. I had just graduated high school and was working a summer job in the Moorestown NJ mall. My friend called my store and told me tickets had just gone on sale. I ran to the ticket Ticketron outlet at Wanamakers and nailed 2.
It was an amazing concert, with the UK performers, some of the appearing live both at the US and UK shows, the reunions, the vibe. Joan Baez "children of the 80's, this is your Woodstock" |
Dream Theater. Boston 3/22/02, 4 hour show, absofuckinglutely incredible setlist, the whole show totally blew my mind
|
Iced Earth at the Lab in St. Paul. Wow. That was a show for the ages.
|
The Freddie Murcury tribute Concert at Wembley Stadium. That was a fun day out, where else are you gonna see Metalica, Robert Plant, David Bowie and George Michael on the same bill. It was like a variety show, a little bit for everyone.
|
Out of all the concerts I've been to, I have to say that Stuck Mojo (metal band from atlanta) was one of the best shows I've seen. They always play small venues and hang out with the crowd before and after the show. The last time they were around here, they pulled on stage an 8 year old kid who knew all the words...
Now the rest of the band is playing 80s style metal with one of the WWE guys as the singer .. I miss Bones. |
All times are GMT -8. The time now is 11:02 PM. |
