Leonard Cohen Primer

I know this is going to sound incredibly stupid but I was for the longest time confusing Leonard Cohen with Burt Bacharach. I know, I know................And for the life of me I couldn't understand why people were saying how powerful and soulful his songs were. Now that I can lay that incredibly large fallacy to rest I want to explore the real Leonard Cohen and his music. Could you post your favorite Leonard Cohen songs so that I might be able enjoy his music too? Much obliged.

as bad as it is to say, the song that got me into Leonard Cohen was the cover of Hallelujah use in Shrek. The other songs that I really enjoy, that have already been mentioned are Suzanne and Famous Blue Raincoat.

if it's the same Leonard Cohen that i think you're talking about, my dad grew up in the same neighbourhood as him in Montreal they were friends.
