binge listening

you ever find a song that's so good you just have to listen to it over and over and over again? and then nobody else likes it anymore, but you still do, so you keep listening to it?

I've done that to a few songs, most recently "T.V. Party" by Black Flag, and "Now You're a Man" (It played during the credits for the movie Orgazmo). And sometimes I find that listening to a song that I've had stuck in my head a few times in a row is a pretty effective way of getting it out.

Heaven by Live. The first release off of their newest album. I downloaded the song about a month ago and started listening to it then, but since I bought the CD I listen to song # 1 over, and over, and over, and over! I just love that song.

for a while id listen to the decline by NoFX over and over, sence it was 18 min. long it took a while for it to get old.

Wow, I didn't even think there was anyone else who did this but me, yet here we have a thread full of people who binge listen. Awesome

Songs I've done this with:
1.) "Hikari" by Utada Hikaru. Its that intro song to Kingdom Hearts. I downloaded every version to it, too. Instrumental, English regular, Japanese regular, English techno, Japanese techno, and I like 'em all English version is called "Simple and Clean".

2.) "99 Red Balloons" by Nena have English and German versions by Nena, have Bjork's cover to it, Angry Salad's cover, Goldfinger's cover to the song, NOFX's cover... and one more I think, just can't remember.

3.) "Touched" by Vast I still listen to this song to this day, over and over.

4.) "Save Yourself" by Stabbing Westward. Yup. Cool song.

5.) "Mouth" by Bush I don't get what the song is talking about but its cool

6.) "Creep" by Radiohead couldn't stop listening to it first time I heard it. Still listen to it every now and then.

7.) "Something" by Lasgo You know you love this song, everyone who's anyone has heard it at least once.

EDIT: Ok, I just now remembered that if I know the lyrics to a song, its only because I listened to that damn thing over and over and over. I used to be able to sing any Garbage song word-for-word, even the B-sides songs. Thats a helluva lot of songs to have memorized... used to listen in a lot. Then KoRn was my thing for a few years. That list above is the most recent list though.

My bro says I ruin songs by doing this, because I do it a lot. Even one of my friends said he used to be into 99 Red balloons, but once he listened while I binge listened, and he said he couldn't stand the song anymore after that. ::sighs:: Oh well.
