Fleetwood Mac's 'Oh, Daddy' on Legacy, the Rumours tribute album. Don't remember who did it.

If one goes by the number of times it has been covered, "Louis Louis" must rank near the top.

When I was in college, the campus radio station had a "Louis Louis" contest. They received hundreds of garage band covers of the song - and played them all. The range of styles and quality was very entertaining.

According to The Covers Project, the winner is the Bo Diddley song "Who Do You Love", with 171 versions. "Louie Louie" has a paltry 73 versions. Of course, this list doesn't include bar bands.

As I have heard 300+ on the campus radio program, Louis Louis is my personal "most covered and listened to" song - but the Bo Diddley tune is a terrific one as well.

Thorogood had quite a few but my favorite would be, Van Halen's cover of the KINKS song "You Really Got Me"..... Eddie's guitar on that puts Dave to shame, and since it is later and censorship wasn't as bad, DLR's sexual overtones that Ray couldn't have on the original were cool.

My response is, "I like to put forks in an eletrical socket, just LOVE that feeling, can't ever get enough of it, so will you let me put this copper fork in that electric socket?"

I thought "Yesterday" by the Beatles was the most covered song ever?

That site gives 86 versions of Yesterday. I'm not saying that the site is definitive, but that's my source.

I can't believe no one mentioned Staind's cover of "Black" (originally by Pearl Jam.)
That's an awesome awesome cover, I like Aaron singing it better than Eddie!
