First album I BOUGHT was Chemical Brothers - Dig Your Own Hole. I was really into electronica and techno in those angsty highschool days (eh...). :D

Before that I sustained myself on my dad's CD collection - he has a huge collection of classic rock stuff - Pink Floyd, Uriah Heep, Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, etc. Hell, even today I often find myself listening to them. I don't remember listening to the Chemical Brothers for a looong time now.

I don't think I bought it, but it was the first record that was all mine

Hmm... very hard to say.

I remember buying MC Hammer when it first came out... but before that I can recall listening to Weird Al - Even Worse.

My first "real" album that got me seriously interested in music: Nirvana - Nevermind in '91.

After that ... Faith No More - Angel Dust ('92), Metallica - Black Album, and GNR - Use Your Illusion II, but it all stemmed back to Nirvana.

Asia - Asia

I bought the tape because I liked the Dragon on the cover, and the music turned out to be really good also.

I remember playing it in my backyard as I climbed our tree as a kid.

Before that I had some Disney sing-a-long tape, but I don't count that because I didn't buy it out of interest, but was given it instead.

dylanmarsh 07-05-2004 10:10 PM

My first tape was The Cars, "Heartbreak City"; long since melted in the Arizona heat.
