Dashboard plays R.E.M.
On thursday night at 8:00 eastern, on MTV2, Dashboard Confessional is going to cover a whole REM album. I know some of you are into these two bands, so I figured I'd let ya's know. Enjoy

WHOOOO HOOOOOOOO! Yay :)
|
That should be interesting.. too bad I don't have cable here.. Ah well.. it'll be turned into torrent soon enough :)
Out of curiousity.. what R.E.M. album are they covering? |
"Automatic for the People"
I'm so excited :) |
Aw sweet.. it better bet on the bittorrent sites...
|
I'll let you know if it gets posted somewhere, there's a few sites that has a lot of Dashboard downloads.
(I'm a bit obsesseed :) ) |
Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but I came upon a few (5) mp3s of Dashboard Confessional playing REM (a couple featuring Michael Stipe). They are:
Sidewinder Sleeps Tonight Everybody Hurts Hands Down (feat. Michael Stipe) Drive (feat. Michael Stipe) Nightswimming (iTunes Exclusive) I imagine they're from the show mentioned in this thread. Does anyone know of any more from this show (or of a video of the show itself) exist? It sounds like it was a really good show, regretting I don't get MTV2 :( Thanks. |
It was FUCKING AWESOME!
Then again, I'm just a teeny tiny fan ;) Anyway, I have the DVD at home, bought it at their show in May. It was a double set with their newest album. I'm not sure if it was released in Australia or not... I'll check the album when I get home and post the songs that they did. There weren't many really, maybe 8-10. And Michael Stipe only sang with 2-3 if I remember right. Might have only been Hands Down and Drive. I thought it was amazing. I remember when I first heard Everybody Hurts on some WB TV show... I love that song and when I heard Chris Carrabba singing it, I think I may have peed just a little  I'll also check around online and see if I can find the videos. I'm sure they're around somewhere. |
Not a big REM fan, but I'm sure Dashboard can do it just as good, if not better. I might turn it on just to see.

Don't have to do a giant search or anything, didn't know if you knew of anything offhand.. if you had some good DC sites that I could start from, that'd be helpful too ;)
A mate down here's in love w/ DC.. and has all their albums.. I'll have to see if he got a DVD with it. Thanks ;) Quote:

Doh! I guess I should look at dates, eh? Oh well, I think I won't be watching it then!

Then there's *www.dbclive.com* which is a pretty sweet archive of live preformances. Hmm.. they have 9 songs from the REM cover show, but it doesn't look like the video is on it. But there are a shitload of preformances from David Letterman and other late night type shows, as well as a ton of live preformances. Your friend would LOVE this. It's easy to use too, just have to have an FTP client thingy or whatever it's called. |
Awesome.... I'll check it out. Thanks :)
