White stripes on the Grammys
Did anyone catch the White stripes on the grammys last nite???
Wow they tore the roof of the place...amazing fucking amazing. does anyone know the second song they did? mr b |
Yea, that was great. I have been a White Stripes fan for a while but I had no idea Jack White could play the guitar like that. I guess it wasn't news to everybody because Rolling Stone magazine listed him as #17 in their 100 greatest guitarists of all time list. Their performance at the grammys was by far the best of the show if you ask me.

no one has any clue how amazing he is at guitar until they see him live. he is gifted, CRAZY gifted.
|
I absolutely loved the performance. The 2nd song was Death Letter off De Stijl. I couldn't believe he'd throw back to that song, since it was two albums ago.

I am a growing fan and I was really impressed after seeing that. I will supporting them tomorrow when I pick up as many albums as the store has!

Jack White is one of the best rock guitarists alive today. The Stripes have disappointed me of late, but Jack can still rip it up live, that's for sure.
(Tool, if you like the real raw, crazy sound you heard the other night, you'll love their self titled album.) |
Jeff thanks for the info about that song...i don't have that one and i will have to look it up.
Jack white used to be in a band called 'The Go' I have some of their stuff which is pretty good as well. mr b |
They ripped it up at the Grammys. The guy is such an incredible guitar player, he blows me away everytime I see them play. Awsome stuff.

Jack was in the Go, but I dont really dig the stuff he did with them. His style of playing didn't jive with the rest of the band, which was why they basically asked him to leave.
He was in another two piece before the stripes though called the Upholsterers. They only put out one 7', but "Pain, Give Me Sympathy' is a fun little song, and available on most filesharing programs. The name comes from the fact that Jack used to be an upholsterer for Ford, and had his own furniture repair business for awhile. |

Neither was Dylan's...a silver-bell, pitch perfect voice isn't that important for rock stars.

mp3 anyone?
