Beatallica
*did a search and came up totally blank*
some of you have most likely heard these guys...this is for those that have not. They mix popular Beatles songs with popular Metallica tracks, turning out hilarious offerings such And Justice for All My Loving. The irony is they're better at being Metallica than Metallica is now. The songs are edgy and well done, actually listenable. I also found a new track they've released, We Can Hit The Lightz. The home page appears to be down right now but I found a mirror for all tracks. Enjoy: http://str8dog.com/archive/2004/01/13/147.aspx |
I figure this should probably go in the Music section, but that's not the point. I've heard of them before, and I honestly can't stand them. They actually play decent, it's just the combination of two songs that annoys me. I love Metallica (all of their work, even St. Anger) but I'm not a big Beatles fan -- hearing them combined just doesn't do it for me. I guess I can see how some people would like it, but nothing beats Hetfield's voice.

I totally missed the music section. Oops. I rarely venture out of sexuality and general so forgive me.
I don't like the beatles either..somehow hearing their songs Metallicized makes them better tho to me. And I really don't hate St. Anger, I just don't consider it a Metallica album. |
The Thing That Should Not Let It Be just came up in my itunes list. Man, I'd forgotten how great this is. And I am currently downloading the latest album, cannot wait to hear it.

the link you posted says they removed it/no longer exists after clicking on it

Can't believe I just found this thread? I've dl'd a few songs, not sure right now, and I totally love them! Much better than Metallica now, and I get a kick out of listening, something funny about the music to me.

Can't get the link to work. Any suggestions? I haven't heard this yet.

Sounds like what DJ Dangermouse did with the Beatle's White Album and Jay-Z's Black Album.
God, Metallica is annoying. |

For another group doing 'live mashups', try Big Daddy, which is a 50's style band performing "current" (aka 80s and 90s) songs. Excellent renditions, especially "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" mixed with "Welcome to the Jungle", or "Sussudio" with "Runaround Sue". |
Well, shit. Sony just shut down Betallica. They're claiming copyright violations of the Beatles' work.

A Garage Day's Night (2001): mp3 torrent hi-fidelity torrent (.flac) Beatallica (2004): mp3 torrent hi-fidelity flac torrent |
the Beatallica (2004) flac link won't download for me. it does the space allocation thing and then the connecting to peers thing and then i get a message saying something like "rejected by tracker - not authorized; download your personal torrent file from tracker".
the hi-fidelity torrent link for A Garage Day's Night did download for me, and it turns out it's the mp3 torrent for Beatallica. :) i got the mp3 torrents to download for both albums, though, so that will do. thanks for the heads up and links, redlemon - i meant to check these out back when i first saw this thread when it was started. looks like i almost missed out! |
i found the flac links for both albums on http://www.beatallica.org/index2.html but both give the error message i mentioned when i try to download them.
|
Yeah, I just checked their forum, and there seem to be issues on their end with that tracker. If it doesn't come up, I can get it to you somehow, if you know a good way to get a file just under 200 MB transferred.

They still have music up to download on their website. I don't see the big "copyright" deal unless there's money involved. What about Rap music samples? What about DreadZeppelin?
Besides, I thought Michael Jackson owned the Beatle catalog. And, if there -is- money involved, why haven't we heard from Lars yet?? |
A posting from Jaymz, Krk, Kliff, Ringo, Flemball, D^2:

Thanks. That answers the Lars part and I found this re: Michael Jackson.

OK, one more source for obtaining the Betallica FLACs: SoulSeek.
Actually, I have no idea what SoulSeek even is, I assume it's a P2P of some sort. But on the Beatallica boards, they have a sticky with information regarding the Beatallica SoulSeek Chat Room, and they make everything available there. {Note to mods: Beatallica does not sell their music, they only make it available for free download, so this is legal.} |
And two more sources, if you don't do SoulSeek:
Full FLAC versions of the two Beatallica releases are said to be available here: http://tracker.cyberonline.org/ http://www.easytree.org/ |
