yeah, time for an update. Well, I got all those mp3s from my friend and was extremely dissappointed. It only increased my total count to 13320. Talk about a letdown. Oh well, bittorrent here we come. However, that increase did bring me up to about 940 hours of muzak. It's almost 61 gb, a fine figure if I do say so myself.

arrrgh. Please, for the love of God, edit that shit. I only looked through the first 200 or so and saw at least 15 repeats. damn. Those names. Please, correct them. They're almost unbearable. I wouldn't criticize, but it just really bothers me when I see 01.mp3. I mean, what the hell is that? And then you have it like, 5-10 more times. I'll post my playlist later on so you can see how I do it. Not trying to flame and say that your way is wrong, its just a really confusing method to me.

I lost a lot of music due to a virus so I had to get all my stuff back, it's as organized as I can get it now, it's hard organizing this much music, if it wasn't tagged right. I have it all the in the right folders for now.

I ripped all my classical cds and there are only about 500 individual tracks, but they take up about 6gigs. Long symphonys.

I'm pushing around 13,200. Taking up about 56.8 gigabytes. I own one music CD. I've only owned one music CD. I'm a pirate.

i hear ya man, i know editing that many mp3s ain't no joy, but its gotta be done. Repeats hurt everyone. Redundancy costs businesses alot of money, and its probably costing you a lot of space you could use for more things like, MORE mp3s.

Yea man I know I use musicmatch to edit most of my tracks cause I can do batch edits but it still takes a long time, most of the music I have now I have from CD rips, but when my friends were helping rip CD's they ripped them wrong =[

That's right, it is our disk space. If you are a true music lover, having thousands of mp3s doesn't seem outrageous. If I want to listen to a certain artist, I have it at my finger tips. I also want to listen to some other bands besides my "favorites" every once in a while. And you can EASILY have 10,000+ mp3s without downloading "every garage band in LA."

I'd say having 100-200 MB of George Carlin is a waste of hard drive space. To each his own.
