The Crow. Amazing songs that fit the movie so well
|
Cowboy Bebop. All like... five, six or so soundtracks.
|
The Straight Story. Gentle, understated grace
|
A Hard Day's Night
|
I'm going to throw another one in for 'Gladiator'. It inspires me.
|
A Beautiful Mind and 28 Days Later. They both have such a nice feel to them.
I listen to A Beautiful Mind soundtrack when I'm doing homework.. and.. 28 Days Later just kicks ass. |
The Craft
Buffy The Vampire Slayer(TV) City of Angels Scream 3 Great Expectations The Faculty The Crow- Salvation Elektra Daredevil American Pie 1,2 & 3 |
warrrreagl, I would never have thought of A Hard Day's Night. Nice.
I love Grosse Pointe Blank and Forrest Gump. I'm not really into soundtracks that much, but I bought both of them because they were so good. Trainspotting wasn't too bad either. |

killbill, reservoir dog, pulpfiction, fightclub, blackhawkdown, Collateral, mostly all the johnwilliams score, ... |
The one that has gotten the most spins in the past was definitely Batman Forever. One of the few CDs I ever wore out.
|
Top Gun! - Great for an 80's nostalgia trip
Transformers: The Movie Kevin and Perry Go Large Godzilla Any QT film |
The Big Lebowski sountrack maannn
Dylan Kenny Rogers(not the cameraman beater one) Elvis Costello and hotel cali IN spanish -everytime i hear that song i think of Jesus-aka john tuturro...what a great soundtrack to listen too |
1.- Kill Bill vol.1 and 2
2.- A Clockwork Orange 3.- Ravenous 4.- Pulp Fiction 5.- Resivor Dogs I just realized I put 3 Tarantino movies on that list! I like the musical scores for the movie better than the popular band songs most of the time. The Clockwork Orange soundtrack is weird remixes of Beethoven scores. Its cool. |
I've always been a fan of soundtracks because they can be so eclectic. You also can buy them for a few artists only to discover new ones.
In addition to those already mentioned, here a few of my favourites: 1) Dead Presidents - A collection of rich soul and funk tracks for the 70's, many of which are hard to find elsewhere. 2) The McMullin Brothers - Energetic Irish music, both original and traditional, by Seamus Egan. (plus a Sarah Mclachlan song) This movie was one of the first my wife and I saw together when dating. 3) Dead Man - Neil Young improvised this feedback heavy score live to the Jim Jarmusch/Jonny Depp movie. 4) Curtis's Charm - Funky, Mello grooves with lots of analogue soundscapes from the movie. As a bonus, the CD includes a reading by Jim Carrol of his short story that inspired the movie. |
I like the Resident Evil Apocalips soundtrack.
There is some verry good rock in that CD. |
the Baseketball soundtrack is fabulous as well as the soundtrack from the movie Angus. check em out.
|
Glad to see everyone has ecelectic soundtrack tastes just like I do! I even saw Nightmare Before Christmas, I wasn't sure anyone even owned that besides me! Good call, Nancy!
(on a side note, I'm apparently in one hell of an exclamation point using mood!) For orchestral soundtracks, my favorite of all time is The Red Violin. For others, I've always loved The Commitments soundtrack. |
"cruel intentions" has alot of good music on it, so does "the life aquatic"
|
and of course, the rocky horror picture show.
|
i have 2 favorites...
1. Great Expectations Soundtrack 2. Romeo + Juliet Soundtrack i could listen to both CD's all day! :) |
Whoa... haven't seen this thread in a while.
Most of my favourites have been mentioned; Blues Brothers, Reservoir Dogs, High Fidelity and Wayne's World. And as an aside, it's impossible for me to ever listen to Rudie Can't Fail (a favourite Clash song of mine) without my best friend mentioning Grosse Pointe Blank. It's one of her favourite films that happens to have ruined one of my favourite songs. Dammit. |
Soundtrack from Resident Evil and from Spawn are my favorites...
|
Kill Bill Vol. 1
Dazed and Confused Romeo and Juliet |
Gladiator, Immortal Beloved, Star Wars Episode III, Garden State, and BattleStar Galactica are among my favorites.
|

I don't listen to soundtracks, but I wanted to contribute, so here are my favorite cast recordings:
Avenue Q Into the Woods Sweeny Todd The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee Wicked Gilda |
I still pop the game CD for Quake into my CD player once in a while and listen to tracks 2-12 to listen to all the music Trent Reznor did for that game... I loved it.
Aside from that, I would have to say Pi, is my second favourite. |
Another hit for Garden State, Scrubs, and The Last Of The Mohicans.

For the record, has anyone here heard the soundtrack Peter Gabriel made for the movie Birdy ?

Duh, the Vanilla Sky Soundtrack |
Team America: World Police
Even Rocky had a montage |
The Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater soundtrack is one of the best by far :D
|
Hackers and The Crow
|
dazed & confused
|
To my way of thinking, there's a difference between a soundtrack with songs written for the movie and a soundtrack-compilation. I like both:
Original Soundtracks Elevator to the Gallows (Miles Davis) Anatomy of a Murder (Duke Ellington) The Piano (Michael Nyman) The Buena Vista Social Club (maybe not original) Akira (Geinoh Yamashirogumi. A bit disjointed, but really good). The Muppet Movie (Someone, Derwood I think, already mentioned this. Definitely good and definitely fun). Compilations 32 Short Films About Glenn Gould (Great movie and great compilation of classical piano) All the Mornings of the World (The music of Saint Colombe and his student Marin Marais. Really good!) Good Morning Vietnam (Motown!) The Big Chill (Vol. 1 & 2) (Can't get enough Motown!) O Brother Where Art Thou? (Mmm... Bluegrass.... So I Married an Axe Murderer (Cheesy early 90s pop) |
