which drummer does the fastest double bass?
 

i'd have to say Flo from Cryptopsy or Pete from Morbid Angel...i just love the sound of a fast hard double bass, WHO DO YOU THINK?

I have to go with Dave Lombardo, originally of Slayer fame...always could count on the lightning fast drumming there.

Well, I'm a guitar player, but from my listening experience Danny Carey of Tool has one of the best double bass hits out there.

Actually, come to think of it, I think he's probably the best drummer I've ever heard.

Let me be the first to give this viewpoint. A famous guitar player once said about someone else, "He should take a couple notes out and try to put in some feeling." That is not an exact quote, but I think it makes my point.

My friend and concert buddy Danny read in Drummer magazine that David Witte, the drummer from Burnt by the Sun took the number one slot as having the fastest feet from Joey Jordison, the drummer from Slipknot. We saw BBTS in concert a few months ago... and that guys feet were amazing.

A really impressive track with a killer kick drum solo is As I Lay Dying's song 94 Hours.

joey jordison was number one? i don't feel he even compares to average black metal drummers...and as i lay dying is another good one...but only half as fast as morbid angel (i'm repetitive i know)

I always thought Lombardo was insane, but I never really listened to enough black metal.

I would say the guy from fear factory, but on a lot of their tracks, discounting obsolete, they used drum machines in studio. I never got to see them live, so I don't know how he really was.

No offense, but if all you guys can come up with is "Danny Carey", then you guys haven't listened to much music.

He's an alright drummer, but he doesn't belong in a thread about double bass action.

Dimmu Borgir is fucking weird, but their drummer is quick, no doubt. Too bad they sound like shit. They try too hard with their image, imo.

Masturbating the War God has one of the tightest drum lines I've ever heard... I'd LOVE to see Lars even ATTEMPT that.

Oh and by the way... yes Dimmu Borgir are weird... their image is overdone in the same way as Cradle of Filth, but I actually like their music... I think Cradle of Filth only record as an excuse to make shirts that say JESUS IS A CUNT on them in huge letters with masturbating nuns on the front. They absolutely suck musically.
