too expensive.....same with gibson....i bought a $1300 sg standard limited edition natural suburst...i thougt it was pretty, wouldnt stay in tune, so i sold it on ebay. i bought a $400 ibanez that is awesome, and stays in tune, it reallys on goes out if i bump the tuning pegs. im not spending an ass load of money on names anymore.

not jsut the look but ohhh wow that feel .... I FUCKING LOVE IT

I've always liked the finishes that PRS used on their guitars, but their guitars are just very expensive. My main electric is an American strat, which i paid only $500, so I have a hard time paying $2000+ for a solid body electric. That point aside, I have played some really nice PRS McCartys. My only complaint is that they're very heavy. Not quite as heavy as Les Paul Standards, but I'm sure it's taxing playing hours with it on your back.

yep good point on the weight I usually do only studio work so I usually play sitting so the weight didn't bother. I play mostly Fender Tele's and Strat's but this McCarty has the sweetest sound and best sustain Ive ever played and Ive got 10+ guitars of all kinds. I agree it's allot of $$$ but so far it plays like it. I don't think the Gibsons are worth what they charge anymore especially since it's the same damn gutar I have a Gibson es Paual and L6-S from the seventies and new pickups make them a the same as a new Gibson, but so far with the PRS I'm sold

Congrats on the PRS. I've got a friend that has and older custom 24 and it's one sweet axe. Haven't played a McCarty but I've heard they have great tone.

I agree on the Gibson point. Great guitars, horribly overpriced. $2000 for a Les Paul Standard? No thanks. You can get a Heritage Les Paul Copy (basically a Gibson, made by Ex-Gibson employees) for a couple hundred less than a Gibson. It's not a knock off either, it's *as* good.

I've got a Gibson Smartwood I snagged for $800 on ebay. Great guitar.
PRSs are nice, but the flamed tops ain't my thing. Congrats, though! |
Gibsons and PRS's are beautiful guitars but very pricey. I would check out a sweet guitar made by Brian Moore called the I2P.
