And all the goths rejoice... Delerium does thier first tour.

Delerium
Monday July 21, 2003
By ChartAttack.com Staff

One… Two… Three… And swoop!

It’s time to dust off your your sombre black clothes (trailing sleeves and skirts, please), pull out the chokers and white makeup, and practice your gothy dance moves ("Now eat the poison apple…").

Delerium are going on their first very first tour.

Delerium anchor Bill Leeb and his partner-in-crime, Rhys Fulber, are bringing the goth-dance-swirly music duo to various venues throughout the U.S. and Canada for a month-long tour. With three Canadian stops (Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal), it might be your first and only chance to glimpse the dance genre-bending pioneers. Delerium will be touring in support of their recent release, Chimera, which came out earlier this year.

There’s no word on whether any of Delerium’s famous collaborators will be joining the tour (we’d hazard a guess that the only place Sarah McLachlan might hit the stage would be at the Vancouver show), but the lads have snagged Kristy Thirsk (who appeared on Semantic Spaces’ "Flowers Become Screens") and Shelley Harland for vocal accompaniment.

Opening for Delerium will be Conjure One, Fulber’s current project. There will also be one other band joining the tour. Might we perhaps suggest something along the lines of, say, Front Line Assembly or Ohgr?

Delerium tour dates:

Sept. 3 Vancouver, BC @ Commodore Ballroom
Sept. 4 Seattle, WA @ The Showbox
Sept. 5 Portland, OR @ Crystal Ballroom
Sept. 6 San Francisco, CA Bimbo's 365 Club
Sept. 8 Los Angeles, CA @ El Rey Theatre
Sept. 9 San Diego, CA @ 4th & B
Sept. 10 Tucson, AZ @ City Limits
Sept. 12 Boulder, CO @ Fox Theatre
Sept. 14 Minneapolis, MN @ The Quest
Sept. 15 Chicago, IL @ The Metro
Sept. 16 Detroit, MI @ St. Andrew's Hall
Sept. 18 Toronto, ON @ The Guvernment
Sept. 19 Montreal, PQ @ Le Spectrum De Montreal
Sept. 21 Boston, MA @ Axis
Sept. 22 New York, NY @ Irving Plaza
Sept. 23 Philadelphia, PA @ The Trocadero
Sept. 24 Washington, DC @ 9:30 Club
Sept. 26 Atlanta, GA @ Cotton Club

Man, I would love to go to the show in Los Angeles... but I'll probably have a job by then, and I know that overtime is pretty much standard for it. Dang. Oh well, if anyone goes from this area, tell me. I want a delerium/conjure one T-Shirt.

PS - I just hope they play more of their older material... so much more inovative and entertaining, than the new pop

Yeah, I agree... I don't really like the direction it's going in the past couple albums.
