Best *dancing* Music
OK, i am needing help here. i am making up the playlist for my wedding reception and i want it to be as great as possible. i need some very good, all around dance music. I am not talking techno nor crappy pop R&B. The funny factor is very much appreciated along with the romantic. And, keep in mind, we have old people here; They will want to dance some too.

The Chicken Dance has been played at about every wedding I've been to.

For older stuff and the older folks~ I would suggest some old R&B and some disco, ya know, Marvin Gaye, Temptations, Al Green, Sonny and Cher. There are some compilation CDs that have the "staples" of wedding music you can look up on CDnow.com. Hope that helps!!
P.s. I danced once to "Everyone was Kung Fu Fighting" at a wedding, great memories! Last edited by Rowan; 08-08-2003 at 08:10 AM.. |

I hate to say it, but assuming you're having a decent sized wedding with people of all ages, and you want the majority of people to have fun. Just play all that crappy pop stuff, chicken dance, YMCA, all the janet jackson and mariah Carey shit, rumpshaker, etc. ....
Most people like to dance to bleached, bland crap. I don't like, but I've been to quite a few weddings, and they just about all play this crap, and people tend to dance and enjoy themselves. We've decided to not have dancing at our reception and just do background music because there is no way to go with dance music I would enjoy and to get everyone else to have a good time. |
