Out of the Vein

Just got this one, the latest release from Third Eye Blind. I've got to say, its really great stuff. It's a little less pop than they got a reputation for with "semi-charmed life", though similar to the spirit of the non-single tracks from that album.

Some of my fav tracks are Crystal Baller, a uptempo anthem about love, and Wake For Young Souls, a song in celebration of life ended too soon. The sound is often a little more upbeat and pop than the lyrics, and this may be a reason they seem to not get as much respect as other bands with similar lyrical ability...

Not having heard it on the radio at all, i'm asking y'all if its on the air where you live-Minneapolis has got the worst radio choices in the developed world.

Overall, i'd give the album an 8.5 out of 10. There are 2 tracks that don't quite hold their own, but overall it's a great experience, and much better follow up to their original sound than their second album, "Blue."
