The Prayer of the Children

The composer of this peace, Kurt Bestor, was serving a mission in the former Yugoslavia during the late 70's. During one part of his mission he served in a childrens hospital for victims of the civil war that was occurring at that time. He had grown very close to many of these kids during his service, nad loved many of them as one would their own little brother or sister. One day he was tasked to go pick up supplies for the hospital, which was a normal routine for him. Upon returning with the supplies he found only a destroyed building where the hospital had once stood. the hospital had been bombed, and there were no survivors. He wrote this song to help him deal with the anguish he felt at the loss of those children, and to serve as a memorial to them. BTW, you should probably have the tissues handy...

The amount of human suffering, as a result of war, endured by children and adults all over the world, is overwhelming. Very sad and so unnecessary.
