Looking for tribal trance

Hey everybody, I'm trying to find some trance with a tribal slant, like wind flutes and stuff. One example would be Tiesto's "ancient history". Drum solos are a plus, of course. It doesn't have to be fast or have electronics in it, but tribal feel, definitely.

If you know any, I would much appreciate a link or song names. Thanks!

Have you ever heard of the prog trance band Shpongle???? Good times my friend, I highly suggest you check out the albums Tales of the Inexpressible and Nothing Lasts, Nothing Remains. Definitely best electronic band going today in my opinion. They experiment with a myriad of exotic instruments... wind and pan flutes for sure, and definitely great vibes. Juno Reactor also has a bunch of songs with congas and tribal based atmospheres as well.

Also check out the album "Leftism" by Leftfield. I recall that there are a lot of tribal instruments on that album.

The same guy that does the downtempo / psy-dub known as Shpongle also has a trance project called Hallucinogen.
One of the best trance acts of all time. Highly suggested!

Ideofunk beat me to the punch (good form!). Shpongle's album Tales of the Inexpressible is a wild ride. Simon Posford, founder of Hallucinogen and Sphongle, has a band called Younger Brother that continues a similar psy-trance vibe but with a higher degree of live instrumentation, I highly recommend them.

His (Posford's) record label is called Twisted Records (Twisted Music). Lots of heady music.

Cheers

for the come-down and after hours, i put on an album i only know as "the ambush" which mixes actual african chants and stuff with some mellow electro. it's very soothing, especially the first track.

leftfield is great, and although he's very eclectic, a lot of BT's songs tend toward tribal beats.
