Are any of you good in music composition? I love music and can read and have a good ear, but I've always wanted to write music.

Where do you get inspiration from?

And any of you like John Mayer?

I get inspiration from the people around me. The more I collaborate with someone the more I want to write. My band is on hiatus at the moment so I've been sitting in with a couple of other bands on piano and organ. I love to take a song that someone wrote and arrange other parts for it.

I'll be in the studio for the next couple of weeks recording parts and directing a string quartet in a part I arranged for these guys. So despite my band being on hold I'm actually more inspired these days ... strange.

Not familiar enough with John Mayer to make a judgment call ... I've heard him but I'm not rushing out to buy a CD.
