Last.FM Usernames? - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

Hey guys, I searched around for a thread like this, but didn't see anything. I'm a big fan of delving into other music genres to add to my soundtrack of life. I've been mainly interested in a lot of electronic genres (hard trance, psytrance, psychedelic, goa, breakbeat), but thanks to my roommate and some other friends I've recently been listening to a lot of progressive rock (Dream Theater, Symphony X, Liquid Tension Experiment) and some downtempo rock like Pinback. I thought it'd be neat to see what everyone else seems to favor, so feel free to post up your Last.FM usernames so we can share our favorite artists.

Mine's currently mjw4tson, but I just opened a new account under TheCrumblenaut to be a bit more universal. Feel free to add both, but I'll slowly stop using mjw4tson

Once I learned last.fm was acquired by a big corporation, I uninstalled it.

coincidentally i just started "leading" it a few days ago as flamingdog left

i mostly listen to music from out-of-print LPs these days
french & italian libraries and OSTs
also bits of jazz, funk, & psych
and a few new albums here and there

anyway, all of you guys are free to join the group if you want

I just recently joined last.fm and I love using it here at work.
So yet another thing I find for myself to enjoy is a cog in the wheel of corporate oppression. What a surprise. Life sucks.

it's not going to get an accurate representation of my tastes since all I have on my laptop is my electronic tracks from beatport that I'll be using for DJ stuffs

oh well. Most people will be like "who the hell is that" I keep running in to Last.FM going "uh, we never heard of this guy, or this label, or this song, no tags, etc..."

bah, obscurity ftw.

I messed around with some stuff on my system and for some reason the Last.FM app can't connect to the server anymore

Not the app's fault - it's something I did - but hopefully I'll figure it out eventually. I have over 200 song listens cached and waiting to be counted!

You can still use the old WinAMP (and other software) plug-ins. But yeah, they've got worse over the last three or four years...

What do you guys think of the new look?

It took me awhile but i really like it.. The library system is pretty neat, although not as good as the profile editor the had back in the day, i wonder if that will ever come back?
