UPDATED! New addtion bbcode: [Seeqpod],[Mixwit],[Playlist]

Okay, easily embed your music and playlists from seeqpod and mixwit.

seeqpod

To get this kind of embedded player

Use the following BBCODE
(no spaces)

[ seeqpod]50a906182b[/seeqpod]

Note where I got the seeqpod playlist_id= to embed my music:
< embed src="http://www.seeqpod.net/cache/seeqpodSlimlineEmbed.swf" wmode="transparent" width="300" height="80" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashvars="domain=http://www.seeqpod.com&playlistXMLPath=http://www.seeqpod.com/api/music/getPlaylist?playlist_id=50a906182b"></ embed>

you can also use a slightly different one to see the full list

(remember no spaces)
[ seeqpodfull]50a906182b[/seeqpodfull]

<hr>

Mixwit

To see this kind of player:

use the following bbcode:
(no spaces)

[ mixwit=73690d75b476b1ffc0739f15643f021d]30f4faaa2e1d6038c9921c7e1d4189e4[/mixwit]

[ mixwit=&widget=]&playlist=[/mixwit]

It is a little bit more complicated but once you know what to look for it is very simple. You have to find 2 different codes, the first is the &widget= and the second is &playlist=

from the embed code look for the numbers after &widget= and the &playlist=

< div style="width: 430px; height: 350px; text-align:center;">< embed width="426" height="327" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" name="mixwit_mixtape_73690d75b476b1ffc0739f15643f021d" src="http://www.mixwit.com/flash/widgets/shell.swf" quality="high" wmode="transparent" flashvars="env=embed&widget=73690d75b476b1ffc0739f15643f021d&playlist=30f4faaa2e1d6038c9921c7e1d4189e4&vuid=embed" align="middle"></embed>< div style="text-align: center; margin: auto;">< a href="http://www.mixwit.com/create?refer=embed">< img src="http://mixwit.s3.amazonaws.com/public/resources/img/embed/make-a-mixtape.gif" border="0" style="border:0px;"></a></div></div>
< img style="visibility:hidden;width:0px;height:0px;" border=0 width=0 height=0 src="http://counters.gigya.com/wildfire/CIMP/Jmx*PTEyMDgwMzkxOTkxODcmcHQ9MTIwODAzOTIwNjM3NSZwPTE4NDMzMSZkPSZuPQ==.jpg" />

You can get very creative with your mixwit embeds:

<hr>

Playlist.com
To make a player like this:

look at the embed code and find playlist=
< div style="text-align: center; margin-left: auto; visibility:visible; margin-right: auto; width:450px;">< embed style="width:435px; visibility:visible; height:270px;" allowScriptAccess="never" src="http://www.profileplaylist.net/mc/mp3player-othersite.swf?config=http://www.profileplaylist.net/mc/config/config_purple.xml&mywidth=435&myheight=270&playlist_url=http://www.profileplaylist.net/loadplaylist.php?playlist=31054139" menu="false" quality="high" width="435" height="270" name="mp3player" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" border="0"/><BR>< a href=http://www.profileplaylist.net>< img src=http://www.profileplaylist.net/mc/images/create_purple.jpg border=0></a>< a href=http://www.profileplaylist.net/standalone/31054139 target=_blank>< img src=http://www.profileplaylist.net/mc/images/launch_purple.jpg border=0></a>< a href=http://www.profileplaylist.net/download/31054139>< img src=http://www.profileplaylist.net/mc/images/get_purple.jpg border=0></a> </div>

use the following bbcode
(no spaces)

[ playlist]31115580[/playlist]

<hr>

you can use these bbcodes anywhere, this also means you can embed your songs in your posts and journals.

One of the disadvantages is that the seeqpod player is that it preloads the first track this is good when you only have one player but in some of the threads with multiple posted players it will eventually crash your browser. It is recommended you set in your control panel options to view 5 posts per page if you are having problems viewing the thread.

The mixwit bbcode doesn't give you an option of seeing the full playlist, a small con just like the preload. It will only start to play when you have pressed the play button, which is the only way to fast forward through the whole playlist. Hey if you're going to go for nostalgia, why not take it all the way back to give you the full effect, right?

The advantage of this playlist.com is that it doesn't start until you press play and you can read the playlist. The disadvantage is that I wasn't able to find the same mp3s to create the same sample and the color has to be the same for everyone. At this point, I cannot make the changes to the player to allow everyone to change the color.

I'd like to thank the community in helping me troubleshoot the problems with these solutions and to also those that contributed to helping find new and exciting ways to communicate here on TFP specifically in order of inspiration Bees, mixedmedia, Redlemon, and Shauk.

Fantastic response!

With the new BBCODE for SeeqPod it took me less than a minute to get my latest journal entry, that I spent hours creating, finished up just the way I wanted it. http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/journal...wjournal&j=941

After staying up half the night by 7:30 this morning I was totally frustrated that I couldn't get the little SeeqPod player to embed in my journal entry.
So I dashed off a post to Tilted Support with my issue.

By 12:20 this afternoon Cynthetiq came back with the solution.

TFP SUPPORT ROCKS!!!

Willravel 04-08-2008 09:19 AM

Whoa, cool. Well done!

snowy 04-08-2008 09:21 AM

Ooooooh. This is great! Thanks for sharing this with us, Cyn. I love using seeqpod, and being able to embed in my journal will be very useful.

Willravel 04-08-2008 10:14 AM

HOLY CRAP!

It totally works.

Cynthetiq 04-08-2008 10:39 AM

it's an easy fix, sometimes it's simple other times it's hard.

since this was easy and i was avoiding work, it made it get done.

testing 6 track load;

interesting to note that if you add something or remove something the playlist number changes.

Redlemon 04-10-2008 11:33 AM

I also just found Mixwit.com, which uses SeeqPod as a back end, but makes this WAY cooler interface:

<div style="width: 430px; height: 350px; text-align:center;"><embed width="426" height="327" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" name="mixwit_mixtape_d174fcc9d77c00980a7e7b535152583f" src="http://www.mixwit.com/flash/widgets/shell.swf" quality="high" wmode="transparent" flashvars="env=embed&widget=d174fcc9d77c00980a7e7b535152583f&playlist=5cad2ed94bef8721179e6e17e10ed466&vuid=embed" align="middle"></embed><div style="text-align: center; margin: auto;"><a href="http://www.mixwit.com/create?refer=embed"><img src="http://mixwit.s3.amazonaws.com/public/resources/img/embed/make-a-mixtape.gif" border="0" style="border:0px;"></a></div></div>
<img style="visibility:hidden;width:0px;height:0px;" border=0 width=0 height=0 src="http://counters.gigya.com/wildfire/CIMP/Jmx*PTEyMDc4NTU4ODUwMDcmcHQ9MTIwNzg1NTkwMjEyNCZwPTE4NDMzMSZkPSZuPQ==.jpg" />

Cynthetiq 04-10-2008 11:49 AM

damn red.. that's some hawt shit!

Redlemon 04-10-2008 11:51 AM

It's not immediately obvious (especially with only 2 songs), but the tape in the window moves as you go from track to track as well!

Cynthetiq 04-10-2008 11:54 AM

AW DAMN!!! Rickrolled!

a word of warning to those with limited memory or bandwidth... some of these threads are downright big and getting bigger!!!!

also be patient since the player preloads the music, and it may error out the first track when there are alot of players to load.

you may want to change your page views to be only 5 posts per page in your control panel --> user options.

Cynthetiq 04-12-2008 04:12 PM

new updated bbcodes!!!

mixwit.com and playlist.com

Shauk 04-12-2008 04:20 PM

Thanks :D I even got a special mention, I feel all warm and fuzzy in my pants!

Is it possible to do this on a per-thread basis? I kinda doubt it, but it'd help for threads like these.

Cynthetiq 04-17-2008 06:05 AM

Unfortunately no, can't even do it on a per forum basis.

I contacted seeqpod a few days ago:

Hey cynthetiq,

Sorry, I somehow derived Cynthia from your email address (time for some coffee :) ). Anyway, the autoloading you mention is an issue I discussed with the engineering team today, and it's a problem that will be addressed soon.

I'll do my best to best to update you when the problem has been resolved.

Cheers,

CSY
Nice to know that they would like to resolve it.

Shauk 04-22-2008 12:17 PM

removed.

Shauk 07-22-2008 06:55 AM

I'm of the same mind. I'd like this tag, and I thought we had it for a while... but I can't figure it out, and the auto-embedding feature is none too cooperative with Vimeo as of late.

nevermind, it seems as though I discussed this just a while ago, but misplaced the mental reminder of it. also, the video worked somehow, anyway, even though I tested it out elsewhere and it didn't embed.

Daniel_ 08-16-2009 02:35 AM

Damn you all for bumping a thread that made me think Seeqpod was back from the grave. :(

sorry, Daniel_san. Perhaps Grooveshark can fill that void up some. I'm trying to make it take off like a wave here at TFP in the absence of seeqpod... though I have heard news that after seeqpod's bankruptcy, it is now under new management and is supposed to re-launch, but that was nearly three months ago when I came across the article.

SecretMethod70 08-16-2009 06:55 AM

Once I found grooveshark, I stopped using Seeqpod anyway. Grooveshark has a lot more available music.

Glory's Sun 08-16-2009 07:07 AM

yeah I prefer grooveshark as well..

now one of you show me how to embed grooveshark playlists :p

as far as vimeo goes, most vimeo won't embed because if the user has a + account, it's non embeddable unless the user specifies where.. if it's not a plus+ account, then often times everything is just disabled as a default. Been working on this forever..haven't found a way around it yet.. so the links will just have to work.

I thought I had found grooveshark as a remedy for seeqpod's on/off again troubles about four-five months ago, but as it turns out, it was in my delicious bookmarks since Apr. of 08. I hadn't thought to use it because I still had seeqpod, and if something works like you want it to, you don't really seek another similar way of doing things. I was both early, and late, on the grooveshark bandwagon.

Haha. Like I told you before, it took me two weeks of interspersed five-minute uses at a time to finally figure out how to rename and/or delete a playlist in Grooveshark. They need to make all those little buttons and gadgets in their interface a little more conspicuous for us dopes.
