I've seen people playing the 'band game' on some messageboards where you take the last letter from a name and use it on the first letter of the next bands name.... that game sucks.

Lets play a good one... you have to come up with a fact/rumor or whatever that links an artist or a band. For instance:

Nirvana links to Hole - Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love we're together and had a kid.

Hole links to Smashin Pumpkins - Love was also romantically linked to Billy Corgan.

Smashin Pumpkins links to Zwan - Corgan was in both bands

Zwan links to A Perfect Cirlce - Paz Lenchantin played in both Bands

A Perfect Circle links to Tool - Maynard James Keenen plays in both bands


so I just went from Nirvana to Tool. :D


So... Ill start it off with an easy one:

Gun's n Roses

- Guns N' Roses' guitarist was Slash
- Slash was seen on an episode of "Trading Spaces" when a musician friend and his wife were redoing a room.
- Trading Spaces is hosted by Paige Davis
- Paige Davis is married to musical theatre actor Patrick Page.
- Patrick Page was seen in "The Lion King" on tour.
- "The Lion King" originally starred Heather Headley.
- Heather Headley recently released an album called "This is Who I Am"

So beat that....Guns N' Roses to Heather Headley!

Metallica

Metallica had bass player tryouts to which Les Claypool from Primus was one of the auditionees.

I take it now someone has to link primus?

Primus played a cover of 'NIB' on "Nativity in Black, Vol. 2" with Ozzy Osbourne.

Ozzy Osbourne's bass player used to be Robert Trujillo, now of Metallica.....wait...d'oh!

Seriously, Ozzy's drummer used to be the drummer for Faith No More....

Faith No More had none other than Courtney Love from Hole in the band briefly.

Im sure someone can make a link with Hole ;)

Hole had help from Billy Corgan, of the Smashing Pumpkins, on their last record.

Well then I guess we have reached Steve Fucking Winwood who also sang for the Spencer Davis Group.

I have an idea, lets select an artist to be the ultimate goal in this game. I nominate oh lets say LL Cool J. If we can link Metallica to LL Cool J, that will be a pretty good accomplishment. Especially considering that we're on Steve Winwood.

Sounds like a plan. but Im a little stuck on this Steve Winwood guy.

Allright then, if we're stumped, Steve Winwood was in Blind Faith with Eric Clapton.

Clapton played in a band called the Yardbirds in the early 60's with Jimmy Page.

Jimmy Page's riff for "Kashmir" was sampled by P. Diddy (aren't you glad someone aimed us towards Hip Hop in our goal of LL Cool J?)

P diddy was featured on a song called 'After School' by.....you guessed it... LL Cool J!

Les Claypool once tryed out for Metallica after Cliff Burton tragically died.
