I sure hope I can afford it as my next car. |
too bad the production version will only be sold in europe
That's pretty nice looking, not much like any current Ford, that's for sure. I'm sure I'll never come close to seeing one in real life, but I like what I see in the pics.
For some reason, when I se it, I think Lexus. Good to know that Ford is looking towards the future, even if it is Ford of Europe.
funny, to me it looks very saabish.
definately euro design |
A Ford that looks........ cool?
ERROR ERROR DOES NOT COMPUTE |
I like it a lot.
If the production car comes close to this one now, it is going to be a big success for them. After that...who knows, if enough people tell their dealers in North America that they like it, they might just ship a limited amount over here. Anywho, nice to see Ford come up with a show stopping car. Good for them. |

To me it looks like a Crossfire, well at first glance ....But I like it.
Very nice design. I want one :)
Personally, I see a lot of similarities with the Mazda 3. Ford is definitely using some of its partners to benefit its own line of cars.
Just an addition - Ford Europe has ALWAYS had better looking and better performing cars than Ford USA. It's a shame, really. |
They ought to drop in a hybrid engine...
Looks like a lexus....huh!!
That looks great! I've never seen this car before, and I regret not seeing it. Maybe I'll invest in some importing from Europe when it comes out, IF it comes out :P
I need to find the pic, but apparently that thing has 4 lambo-doors... That's just fuckin' awesome!!
Quote:
I want to see that also! |
OK, regarding those doors, this is the best I can do right now. They're not Lambo - doors as such, but pretty damn badass all the same.
eh... looks like a scion and a bentley coupe.
while it looks somewhat neat, I think the american designs from Ford/GM are quite uninspired and boring, even if this comes from european designers. nothing groundbreaking here |
I would walk into the damn doors and bash my head.

Those pictures are awesome. I love the lights at the front.
looks like an rx8 to me... and a third of mazda is owned by ford so. even has the same suicide doors almost
how do you use those doors if you're parked beside something or a car? it doesn't look like you can open them part way. Also, if you're parked beside a car, couldn't the 'upward' motion of the doors hit a few sideview mirrors on neighbouring cars?

If it goes into production they will probably put normal doors on it! |

Looks normal.
Nose borrowed from Lexus Headlights borrowed from Lexus and Acura Body borrowed from Hyundai and Scion etc.. etc.. BUT WAIT! The doors open differently! |
I like it, but I would doubt they would let it go into production in the US with those doors. Imagine trying to get out of it at a packed mall?

That might be a problem also:D |
Love the front end...but, the doors...meh.
Looks great for a concept car. Profile looks very Aston Martin DB9/Jaguar XK8. I like it.
2 bad it was never made!
I wouldn't be surprised to see this design released in Ford's Euro models first, then see them make their way over States side within a few years there after. Ford seems to use Europe as a proving ground for radical design, and whatever does well (and seems to have a reasonable fit in our somewhat conservative tastes) then makes its way over the pond. I've seen this trend dating back to the European Ford Escort of the mid 80's resembling the American Ford Escort of the early 90's. Then the uncanny resemblances of the Mercur Scorpio looking just like the first generation Ford Taurus. Or maybe I'm just making this all up from my own biased perceptions. Either way, I think the Iosis design will make its way to America, just not as soon as some would hope.
It kinda misses me off. Aston Martin is in a class of it's own. I know that the Ford Motor Co. owns Aston, but it wasn't a Ford that saved James Bond and caused grown men to salivate. It wasn't a Ford that caused women to swoon. In order for Aston to keep it's ultimate place of class, there can't be pretenders. Can you imagine GM letting Saturn create a clone of ther Corvertte, or if Honda came out ith a copy to the NSX? Maybe Volkswagen can come out with a clone of the 911 GT.
It's wrong. |

I Japan the NSX is a Honda:D Acurca is only in North America |

I'd have to say that the Mustang Mach 1, especially the 429 Cobra Jets caused plenty of grown men to salivate AND you're beloved James Bond drove around in a FORD (gasp!) Mustang in Las Vegas in one of his movies, but Im sure you knew that already. I agree that Aston Martin has a certain snob appeal and luxory that Fords dont have, but 1) the Iosis, looks more like RX-8 than anything else, 2) just because something is more sophisticated doesn't make it better than something thats more blue collar, and 3) Its Ford that pays the bank note to keep Aston Martin and Jaguar around so they have some right to take some design ideas or help from them every once in awhile. |
