autoloc windows and locks

I'm looking at two autoloc products... mainly the power locks w/ remote entry and the power windows... does anyone have any experience with them? Are the directions easy enough to follow?

I'm brand new to the world of cars, equipped only with big dreams and a Hayes repair manual

THe car these would be going on (most likely the locks if either) would be a 97 saturn LS 1

I've heard pretty good things about autoloc in general. Im not too sure about the instructions. I have a 96 Prelude and i need to get a Power door lock kit also, its just the Autoloc one is a bit too much for me. So if anyone know any other companies that provide (2 door) electric power door kits that would be great. Good Luck nuggetman and tell me if you order from them how u like their service.

unknownmf :

For cheap power lock kits, try JC Whitney (www.jcwhitney.com)
or Parts Express (www.partsexpress.com) They have cheaper kits, or if you want to go really inexpensive they have raw actuators and switches to DIY

Thanx akirk! I found one on JC Whitney for $60 bucks but i also want to add on an alarm system. Anybody know any good alarm systems?? Then i found one on Parts Express for $40, so ill probably get this one. The only thing is its for a 4 door and mine is 2 door-but who cares if i mess up i have 2 extra motors. The only thing i can see wrong with Parts Express one is i dont think it comes with switches? So i would have to buy my own switches and hopefully they will fit onto the ones i choose.

Alarm wise I would get a Viper..... thats what I have, they use a voltage drop trigger so you don't have to use door or trunk switches..... you don't even have to add a hood switch if your car has a light that goes on when you raise the hood. The voltage drop wire hooks up to the dome light circut, if the door, hood or trunk is opened the voltage drop sensor picks up the drop in current from the light coming on and trips the alarm.

Mine was $300..... but they start out at around $200 up to $600. My SS has the auto start option, it's fun to hit the button, the alarm turns off... the doors unlock.... and the car starts, LOL! I've tricked people into thinking it has voice command
