Odd flooding problem :(
Hiya
Its been pretty wet around here lately, and I mean WET. The other day, I went to hop in my car, only to find a puddle of water 2 inches deep on my driver side floor. Using towels to dry it up, I was able to drive. As you can imagine, I only own a limited number of towels, so I'd like to get this problem cleared up. I can't see any obvious signs of leakage, holes, or anything. Does anyone have any ideas as to how this keeps happening? I drive a 1985 Nissan Pulsar hatchback :>. Any help appreciated D: (i assume this is the correct forum for such a request :o) Cheers |
Sunroof?
Check the door seals. If a rain gutter is bad (or non-existent on that model) any door seal problem can become a flood. Does it leak more or less depending on the direction you park? (uphill, downhill, sidehill...) |
No sunroof. I can't say I've parked it on any angle other than flat... I'll check the door seals.

go find a high pressure touchless carwash and run the car through it. Any leaks should be instantly detectable.

oh good one :p
I checked all the seals, there is absolutley no sign of a leak I can see. I jacked the car up to see underneath, nothing suspicious there either. I took the carpet up and there's like a puddle underneath it, that's drying out now. I took to the car with a hose, spraying it in all the possible places water might get in, and still no leak. There's just no explaination for it! Help! |
Don't just spray were it may leak from, spray all the areas that touch those that it may leak from. Water runs ya know

Yah I did the whole car ..it needed a wash anyway ;)
