so far here's a list i can think of:

toyota rav4
subaru impreza rs
honda crv

anyone got any additions/comments to the list? how do subarus measure up compared to toyota and honda in terms of reliability?
Is the car for your parents or for you? No offense, but the cars you listed tend to be younger people's cars

My lady has a 98 CRV its fun to drive and rarely has problems. The only problem is the cars you listed aren't 4wd they are awd and the Honda is fwd with rear wheel assist. I'd probably get a Subie out of what you listed simply because they are true awd and their motors are well built. The Saturn would be good with a Honda motor in it but Saturns don't exactly hold their value, assuming you are worried about that kind of thing.

arent those all SUVs? or baby SUVs? how about one of the new Chevy's like an optra or the cavalier replacement. I like the dodge magnum or 300. for a bout the same price as the suv, and better safety standards and styling
