one fine picture of your favourite car...
Post one awesome pic of your favourite car, or one pic of one of your favourite cars. Make this thread pure eye candy.
So here goes: Aston Martin AMV8 (2005) http://www.fast-autos.net/astonmartin/amv86.jpg |
Is that like a souped up Vantage?
SIGH Mr Mephisto |
Couldn't you have just followed the whole idea behind the thread and posted your favourite motor? :| The notion of a thread filled with pics of everyone's favourite car seemed like a pretty cool idea. What's your dream car Mr? Is it ok that I shorten Mr Mephisto to Mr?
also for your info: Ford Motor Co.'s British super car subsidiary, Aston Martin, is preparing to launch the production version of its AMV8 Vantage concept, unveiled earlier this year at the Detroit auto show. The so-called baby Aston will arrive in 2005, powered by a supercharged 4.3-liter V-8 engine rated at 450 horsepower and mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. It is the first of the new generation Astons to be built on the company's new VH (vertical/horizontal) platform that will underpin all future models. Priced from just over $100,000, the small Aston will compete with the Porsche 911 and the Lamborghini Gallardo, among others. A convertible edition is planned for 2006. |
My favorite car was the Ferrari 575M until this beat arrived --> Ferrari F430

My favourite car would either be an XR6-Turbo, which I currently drive (in this colour coincidentally). http://www.webwombat.com.au/motoring...ages/xr6t9.JPG http://www.fast-autos.net/ford/xr6turbo3.jpg Or a Porche Carrera GT, which I currently do not. http://a248.e.akamai.net/7/248/1229/....jpg&WIDTH=640 I'm also fond of the AstonMartin DB9 http://www.astonmartin.co.uk/content..._DB9_DB9_3.jpg Mr Mephisto |
I'll play.
For playing... Here we have the sexiest '85 Corolla GT-S built right now. Which belongs to Brandon Lee, you can find more of thise sexy thing at, http://www.teamrice.org http://www.hirosada.com/misc/brandon6.jpg For everything else... Here is a '97-98 Celsior/LS400 outfited with a Wald Exchange aero package and other trimmings. This hands down is my favorite car, sure it's a fake Benz, but it's just that sexy. http://www.hirosada.com/misc/ucf20-mcaf-v2-f.jpg |
I can't understand why people want to "rice up" their (usually cheap Japanese imported) cars.
It looks cheap and nasty. But then again, that's just my opinion. Why not go for something beautiful and refined, preferably British or German? Mr Mephisto |
I could never settle on a single "favorite car" so I'll just go with my own car which is certainly my favorite that I've ever owned.

At the risk of a bollocking, this is only one of my favourite cars:

Yeah, I didn't respond to that post because we are supposed to be posting pictures of our favorite cars. Thanks for the defense there 1slOwCD8, but it's cool. So let's just stick to the topic, shall we guys?

Bugatti Veyron 16.4
|
What goes from 0-60 in less than 2.1 seconds (that's faster than the Dodge Tomahawk), has a top speed of roughly 238 mph, weights 1872 obs., has one of the best engines in history (flat 12, mounted mid, of course), has a twin turbo helping to reach an amazing 1100 bhp @ 7800 rpm and 820 lb/ft @ 6400 rpm, and is produced by one of the most respected german manufacturers in history?
Why the 1973 Porsche 917/30, of course! http://www.fast-autos.net/porsche/91730.jpg http://www.fast-autos.net/porsche/917302.jpg http://www.fast-autos.net/porsche/917305.jpg As someone who has an intimate relationship with Porsche going back to my childhood, this would be my favorite by far. I plan on building a replica in the next 7 or 8 years. |

Aston Martin Vanquish S
Hand built 6.0 litre V12, 520 bhp at 7k rpm, 425 ft lb torque at 5800 rpm.
Top speed is more than 200 mph (321 km/h), the 0-62 mph (100 km/h) dash is accomplished in only 4.8 seconds while 0-100 mph (160 km/h) takes just 9.8 seconds. But it is the mid-range acceleration that is truly sensational; 50-70 mph (80-112 km/h) takes only 6.5 seconds in sixth gear. :suave: http://www.automotriz.net/images/gal...n-Vanquish.jpg  |

738 lb-ft @ 2,000 - 4,000 rpm, DAMN! AT 2,000 rpm!?!?!?

Wow, that Corolla has some serious camber problems. But I appreciate anyone who is willing to make their car special.

OMG My new fave :)
http://www.auto-sfondi-desktop.com/W...on-01_1024.jpg http://www.auto-sfondi-desktop.com/W...ron-05_800.jpg http://www.lamborghiniclub.com/bugatti.jpg At the moment, the Bugatti Veyron appears to have it all: A W-16 engine that can produce 1,001 horsepower A top speed of 250+ mph (400+ kph) A zero-to-60 time of three seconds A zero-to-180 time of 14 seconds A price tag somewhere in the $1 million range. The transmission is unique, in particular because it has to harness about twice as much torque as any previous sports-car transmission. It has: Seven gears A dual clutch system Sequential shifting A paddle-driven, computer-controlled shifting system This computer-controlled system is identical to the sort of system found in a Formula 1 car or a Champ car. There is no clutch pedal or shift lever for the driver to operate -- the computer controls the clutch disks as well as the actual shifting. The computer is able to shift gears in 0.2 seconds. It also has 4 separate turbochargers, AWD, and can do 0-62 in first gear. |

Cadillac CTS-V. 400 HP V8, 6 speed manual. And I can even take my kids. |
MMM CTS-V... god i love driving those. the engine is so soft and mello at light throttle, but then you step on it, the rear end goes sideways and all hell breaks loose from the exhast and a big grin comes across your face. only complaint i have is lack of heads up display.
also cadillac is working to bring the 16 tot he market, albeit a bit a smaller (though larger than the sts) and with a v12. look for it under the XTS name. |
The Bugatti Veyron has been my favorite car since it's EB1 Concept has graced my eyes. The thing is just damn sexy. Rest assured that I will own one some day. Oh yes.
