Have you seen the LliveStrong bike OCC built on the most recent show? (That i've seen).
I liked that look, kind of a european racing chopper look. I don't want to turnt his into an OCC or WCC conversation. I just think that stayle of bike is awsome, with the short little handlebars, 305 rear tire. Just awsome. Jesse's bikes are also killer too. Personally, Jesse or that paticular OCC bike they just did are probably what I would try to copy. Also, Indian Larry made some killer old school chopper looking bikes too. |

Unless you have a massive shop and really good fabrication experience, you will probably require some of the premade parts, so check out what some of the manufacturers have out there (you know Santee for frames, etc.) Naturaly you will probably have more options if you go for a more traditional raked and stretched American style bike (more: fender styles, drivetrain options, forks etc). Also, you should probably find a reputable painter that you like, for whan you get to that point. This whole project is something that I'd really like to do sometime in my life as well!

I'm not meaning a the extensive fabrication that those guys do. I'm specfically referring to the style of stretch, rake, etc.. etc..
Actully, OCC doesn't make anything in house, you can get anything they have, including frames, tanks, fenders, everything, and put it together. The stuff you see on TV is not what they build all the time. |

I would think that the type of riding you want to do would dictate a lot about the style. As far as I know the more extreme you go, as far as rake etc. the more comfort and handling you lose. same goes for hardtail vs. softtail choice. There's also some kits out there, I think that custom chrome makes some, but I'm sure you could find tons of others and make some nice adjustments with the accessories to customize it to your specifications.
