Peugeot 907 concept, like viagra...

Found this at cardesignnews.com

Sep 3, 2004 – Making its debut at the Paris Motor Show, the Peugeot 907 concept is a two-seater GT coupé, created "with reference to the past, the present and the future", and intended to transcend the Marque's values. The 907 is powered by a 6.0 litre V12 engine delivering 368 kW (500 bhp), positioned longitudinally behind the front axle. Connected by a short propshaft, it transmits its power to a six-speed sequentially controlled gearbox placed longitudinally in front of the rear axle. The passenger compartment is designed to accommodate two people comfortably, and is set back just ahead of the rear axle to allow for a long hood.

A glazed panel set into the hood reveals the twelve engine intake trumpets. The roof and front windscreen form a single glazed area. Side vents are situated in the front wings and rear quarter panels, adjacent to the glazed roof, while a retractable rear spoiler is incorporated in the tailgate.

The interior features brown leather and light grey alcantara trim. The steering wheel rim and the gear lever knob have authentic wood inlays. The instrument panel, although digital, is displayed in analogue style and the touchscreen of the central console is connected to a computer with GPS and MP3 player. The vehicle structure consists principally of a carbon fibre shell, to which the mechanical components including the four double wishbone suspension units are attached.

Key dimensions: wheelbase 2.50m, length 4.37m, width 1.88m, height 1.21m

Damn that is HOT! The rear end reminds me of the Crossfire.

omg. I want. NOW. :o

That is an amazing looking car; i like the little window-thing they did with the front insignia, among other things...

I don't like. A lot of the lines just don't make sense to me, and nothing seems to match eachother.

Halx 09-05-2004 10:19 AM

niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice

If they produce this, a lot of the extra lines will go away, but this doesn't seem likely to be produced. I like this design so much, though. If I could afford it, I would sell my TL and import this baby. There would be chicks EVERYWHERE.

mmmmm feels like a porche mated with a vette.

Holy shiat. I like it. A lot.

Jackebear 09-06-2004 01:53 AM

I also like it a lot.

Do they sell Peugot in North America??

Oh well, if I had the money for it, I'd buy an house in Monte Carlo and get one.

Very nice, but I'm not in favor of all the glass, the way the windshield wraps over the roof (in first picture). Still an awsome car!

Scorps 09-09-2004 09:08 AM

Wow that is one damn nice looking car!

wrongfullyaccuzd 09-09-2004 09:58 PM

That looks really really cool...really cool.

Esoteric 09-10-2004 12:07 AM

Holy shit that car is nice! I want one!

It looks like those stupid SLR mercedes things(which i despise). And 500hp is PATHETIC for a 6 liter V12. PATHETIC. I can get more than that out of an engine half the size and half the cylinders (a 3.2 liter I-6) AND stay street legal, easy.

 Sure you can. Normally aspirated? If not, then the supercharger/turbo effectively adds displacement. If you could do it without cheating, then the engine would not be remotely streetable. OEM engines have to deal with a LOT more restrictions than someone playing around in their garage. You can always get more power by hotrodding something yourself than you will ever get from a manufacturer. The engineers aren't stupid, they just have different priorities.

Name one car that makes 500+ hp stock with less than 5 liters.

Deuce66 09-12-2004 08:21 AM

Agreed, if it was N/A it wouldnt be street legal. But the fact still stands, 500hp in a 6 liter engine is still sad for a supercar. BMW gets 500hp out of a 5 liter engine(N/A), and it probly costs less too.

How much HP does a 99' Nissan Skyline R34 GTR have?

I heard a 300zx has up around 400hp stock!(maybe thats the Twin-Turbo design, but still)
